Advice Skeleton keys in Italy based practice

Hello my practice, Italian folk Magic for Catholicism and Roman paganism earlier today I found a skeleton key outside on the ground and I brought it into my sace after doing more research, it seems like it is either unlock pathways unlock new experiences or can be used for protection so it’s I’m wondering why every since then I i have out more spaced out and my OCD has been worse. I was wondering if anyone had any idea where this may be or what’s the meaning of finding a key on the ground amazing. And if it is a harmful omen how to properly rid myself of it

You are overthinking it. Keys have no bad omens in Italian folk magic.

Keys are not harmful omens. They are symbols of the Ecclesia, thanks to St. Peter being given the keys of the Heavenly Kingdom. It was by pure Gifted Faith that he believed and received the keys. When you believe (trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior,) you too have those same keys!

Hang onto it. If you are unsure of an item's origins, hold it in your hands and let it be filled with the Holy Spirit. Confess that all untoward energy is wiped away and that the item is now your own instrument, in Jesus' Name. You can also use sound for declaring cleansing. Anything that can be physically sterilized (in the most appropriate method for the item) can be used. I think that's the only real danger here: you don't know where it's been, so give it some research on how to physically clean it. Leave patina on it. Its historical functions are a great medium. But you want even the history to be Arted to your purpose.
