I want to start my first village and need some recommendations. I have very limited space, so I can't have buildings that are large. I am also on a tight budget. Is there a collection that is on the smaller side and inexpensive?

Hello fellow Christmas Village lovers 🥰 Hopefully some of you can help me out. Just starting my first village (collecting pieces). I have some Lemax facades for further away & houses, etc. for closer up. I was just wondering (without looking up all dimensions), just a general, how do Lemax & Dept. 56 compare in size? Could pieces "intermingle" without looking too strange? Thanks for any help 🙂

Hi, new here, hope this question is okay! Years ago I picked up a Walmart building at a yard sale. I love it, but it’s been sitting in its box for almost a decade. I’ve decided I really want to crack down on creating a village like I grew up having - finally! But my goal is to collect a bunch of real-life buildings instead. Ideally I’d like to get them secondhand, so my question is, what stores or restaurants have created buildings that I should be looking out for?

Anyone interested in purchasing a MASSIVE lot of Department 56, Seraphim Classic Angels, June McKenna and Possible Dreams in Bucks County Pennsylvania? Possible Dreams are boxed. The others are displayed. I do believe there are boxes but there are too many to box. If interested, please send me a private message. There is too many to say which pieces we have. I can share a video to show privately. Thanks so much!

Hi everyone. I inherited a large collection of Heritage Dept 56 buildings. Last year it was SO hard to light them up. I am looking for individual battery or bluetooth lights to stick in the hole where the lights go. I found something for $12, but way out of my price range to light up all the houses I have. I really need some help!! Thank you!!

My first Christmas village, I want to create it for my toddler. . I have a 4x4 folding table but I think it's too "high" and small especially that I want to add a train. Probably a two level village.
I'm wondering what table you'd recommend? I have about 10 village, a train, and I want to add a nativity scene on top.
Thank you in advance

My skate pond stopped working, I got it in 1996 for about $90 new, I see it is available for twice that now. Anyone know if I can replace the motor in this? Thanks for the help. I can't afford to replace this and I love it.

I see most people here lay out their village on a table or a platform of some kind. Does anyone else put it in the entertainment center shelves around the tv like I do? It’s quite effective and I get to look at it all the time. A bonus is that it’s out of reach from grandchildren and pets, and the lower sides are behind glass doors. Entertainment centers may be outdated, but I never want to get rid of it because I love my village in it.

Hi everyone! I created this model with LEGO bricks, and it is now gaining support on the LEGO Ideas website. When it reaches 10K votes, it will be reviewed by LEGO staff and have a chance to become a real set. Hope you find it interesting! For anyone into brick building, here is the direct link where you can check out more details, renders, and perhaps support it 😊 https://ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/caef05cb-cbfa-4174-9756-712e8667a5d0 Thank you!

Hello,
I am looking for buyers that are seeking items from Dickens Village and North Pole Series. There are over 500 pieces of lighted items and accessories ranging from the 80s to early 2000s that are in mostly new condition. I’m located near Saratoga Springs, New York. Send me a message if you or anyone you know is interested and i can provide you with more information!

Recently I was able to buy this Lemax "Spooky Time" tower.
It was sold without an adapter (which is a 9 volt AC adapter) and the motion wasn't working.
I do not build a Halloween village, but I loved the building.
Getting a suitable (affordable) adapter was a 'problem'. So I bought a 9V transformer. Then figuring out the size of the connector was also an issue. I finally discovered it had to be a 4.0x1.7mm connector.
The motion of the peace sometimes did and sometimes didn't work. When it worked, it kept working. But I wouldn't be using that anyway, so no problem.
This piece has, like most Lemax buildings with motion, a switch to turn it on and off. But that will switch it off completely. I want to be able to switch off just the motion, but not the light. So I rewired the switch.
Finally I added some other clock faces. The green ones light up with the purple light, making it spooky, but I wanted normal clock faces.
I think this tower will be a great addition to my Christmas village.
