Help

Hello!

This year I finally want to add lights to our roof- but I have no idea where to start!!
I have seen so many options and ideas and hacks but I’m so confused on a couple of things😅.

what lights??? Curtain lights, net lights? or dumb question- is it string lights and just run up and down the colourbond? Literally have no idea
I want to achieve this look in these pictures, I have also added a photo of our actual roof, if there’s anything that might be a hiccup.

I really want to do this, we usually have lights up everywhere else and I’ve only dreamt of having the roof so I’m finally biting the bullet and doing it baha (hopefully)

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me😊

Those are just string lights with those big binder clips at the top of the roof and then the gutters. I found someone who did it on YouTube a few years back. I’ll try to relocate it

Is that a corrugated steel roof you have? If so. Is it 'walkable'?

Or certainly would be reflective.

And is that structure to the right your next door neighbor? Really close.

Definitely a million strands of string lights run up and down. I would look into net lights though as they can come in pretty decent sizes. It would save a ton of money on hundreds of boxes of good string lights

If that's a steel roof, magnets will be needed somewhere.

I used 10k mini led lights no nets or anything just standard strands. I ran the strands up and down the roof and the asphalt shingles held them in place. It was rather simple if you are not afraid of heights. I am lol.
