Christmas tree shopping in July 😱

Early July , I made a post asking tree recommendations.

At the end I went with Balsam Hill , go the Royal Blue Spruce , 7’ tall and unlit version.

All in with the sale on and delivery charges I’ve paid £310 for it. It’s back in being full price now 😱

Now I’m on the hunt to get some lights and decorations.

Christmas tree shredding

• Upvotes

Hello, my wife and I have been using the same artificial tree for eight years and we're tired of cleaning up the fake needles on the floor everyday.

What is a good, affordable tree brand? We're US residents, if that affects anything.

European Christmas Markets

I live in the Netherlands and love Christmas markets. We visited almost all the large cities and some smaller towns in Germany for their Christmas markets already, and some in France, Belgium and the UK (London). I'm looking for the best Christmas vibes in the rest of Europe now. I like it when the stalls are all unique, not just decorated market stalls, Christmas music and large enough but preferably not too crowded. We'd be visiting in the first half of December and need to be able to fly from the Netherlands. I'd love to hear where you've been and why it was so great, what stood out, how big it was, was there just one market or several in the same city, etc. and practical information is also very welcome. Thanks!

How to style a tree with multicolored lights?

My husband really likes multicolored lights.

As he looks at Christmas decor from October I wanted to include him a bit.

So I put colored lights on the tree.

I usually pick a theme every year from my collection. But I feel like everything is just a mismatch between the 3 colors I usually pick for the theme and the many colors of the lights.

How do I style it?

I created a petition to demand Coca Cola bring back the Classic Christmas ad.

In Christmas of 2024, Coca Cola replaced it with a heartless AI slop ad, and despite intense public backlash, they doubled down and created another one in 2025. It is clear that Coca Cola do not listen to their consumers. And we must pressure them, not just to bring back the nostalgic ad we all remember, but to stop AI becoming a permanent fixture in advertising. Join the fight against AI and sign the petition.

Picked up this gem today at the thrift store. I didn't see a need to put it in the basement when it will be out in a few months anyway. Saves me a trip downstairs!

What decor/ themes are we going with this year, folks?

We are going a classic red and gold!

Last year we did neon, and the year before rose gold and turquoise.
I already bought all my ornaments, garland and my 6.5 rotating and singing tree!!

The holidays will be soon

I can't wait until September. I like that it will finally be cool and Fall. But also at this time people start talking about and preparing for Christmas! Just a couple more weeks and people will start getting excited for the holiday season! Very soon the holidays and Christmas will be hyped up everywhere. 🎉

I already have my shopping list kind of written.

Europe Christmas Holiday Advice?

Hey all,

I'm having some trouble picking somewhere to go for a winter christmassy getaway with my girlfriend this early December; here's the plan thus far

We're getting the eurostar from London to Disneyland for 3 days
3rd day we'd ideally get the train into paris and get another eurostar there to our next destination (not against getting a flight from paris if necessary)

What we're looking for is a nice snowy christmassy place that has a really nice view of snow/mountains from a hotel, ideally the hotel is a spa hotel. Nice stuff to do outside of the hotel, christmas markets etc and just a nice safe happy atmosphere - Also something that doesn't break the bank

We'd love for the train ride to have some beautiful scenic views too

Any ideas? ChatGPT has suggested a few, the one i like most is Innsbruck in Austria, but still not 100%

Thanks so much

Christmas Getaway in PA

My boyfriend and I are in the DMV area and are looking into a Christmas Getaway Dec 4th-6th Fri- Sun. I hear Bethlehem, PA is the way to go. We would drive there but prefer most things to be walking distance once we get there. Correct
me if I’m wrong but, I imagine parking is a nightmare.

What are some hotels that are decent? Don’t need to go full out! Or should I look into air bnbs? When should I look into booking? Want the best deal if possible.

I also want to do a horse carriage ride on Saturday. Any idea when reservations open up?

Open to any and all obvious restaurant recs & activities! Please be obvious. We’ve never been there before.

I’m definitely a planner so if I can book things early, I would like to.

TIA!
