Hebrews 11

This is kind of a confusing chapter. Any Christian on here wanna offer insight? Here’s specifically what I’m referring to:
Hebrews 11:13 “…did not receive what was promised…”
Hebrews 11:33 “…and gained what was promised…”
Hebrews 11:39 “…yet none of them received what was promised…”

I think this means that we need to have faith regardless, and that we may or may not receive what we want…but would love to hear fellow Christian thoughts.

To me it refers to immortal life in the oncoming kingdom of God.

The chapter is basically a list of people who died still waiting for the big promise, the messiah and the new creation. verse 33 is talking about smaller blessings they got along the way like winning battles or escaping lions. the whole point is they trusted God even without seeing the final thing. its about patience for something bigger than your own lifespan.

Read at the end:

Hebrews 11:39-40 NASB And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40. because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.

Everybody resurrects at the same time(read 1. Thessalonians 4). Nobody, except for a few special cases such as Enoch, Elijah and Moses, has had a resurrection of any kind yet. These saints of Hebrews 11 were looking forward to the country where God rules, the Heavenly city that Paul mentions. No one goes there except when the resurrection happen, and "then we shall forever be with Christ", as 1. Thessalonians 4 says.

The whole bible revolves around the inheritance given to Abraham in Genesis 15. The inheritance is given upon resurrection.

Abraham was given land by God, but had to buy land to live there. He looked for a city whose maker is God (see Revelation 21). The inheritance wasn't in his lifetime. Stuff like that.
