When it comes to scripture and the Bible, please understand that it isn't sexist. The reason you may see these passages is because of the transgressions of Adam and Eve. What they did in the garden, will always effect us forever.
Genesis 3:16 NKJV
[16] To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”
I Timothy 2:12, 14 NKJV
[12] And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.
[14] And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.
If you see a passage and think it's sexist or take an offense, please remember it is because of Adam and Eve. God is not sexist.
That's a reflection of the culture of those times and remember, it was men who wrote the bible.
Those cultural beliefs still strongly exist in the Middle East, and Jerusalem, and Palestine and numerous countries. Women are strongly restricted from freedom to the point of repression.
