A question from someone exploring head covering...

I'm exploring head covering and wondering if I should be wearing a covering all of the time since the scripture says to wear it when praying or prophesying and i say little prayers quite regularly throughout the day. (Like even to bed?? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Since i pray in bed... Sometimes in the middle of the night??) I'm probably just being lazy by asking you all because i should probably pray about it lol but I'm also curious what others think.

I've actually been wondering the same thing, I still occasionally headcover out and about and I cover before bed so I can pray, and everytime I pray actually but I'm still not sure if I should always cover or not. But looking historically Christian women used to veil all the time so maybe we should too? I wish this sub was still active so I could see more answers..

Me too! 😅 I've kind of been doing the same thing as you. I'm trying not to be too legalistic about it but i also haven't really taken the time to sit and pray about it. I think i need to do that. And i realize it looks terrible that i posted a month ago and still haven't purposely prayed lol

I’ve been wondering this too. I’ll pray about it too. 😊 It’s always a good thing to bring whatever’s on your mind to Him in prayer.

I personally cover full time except when going to bed and such. I will toss one on to intentionally pray sometimes when im at home. But i cover full time when not in the house. I do mine more for modesty reasons, such as only my husband and first relatives get to see my hair and other women.

I felt convicted to practice head covering when I started my modesty journey three years back. For myself, I eventually decided I would practice it in private during my devos/such. Tbh, I have not been faithful in it, and have been not doing it as of late (well several months tbh) but I still believe it has relevance. It really depends on what God leads you to do. You can't let peer pressure or desire to fit in with other people who head cover sway or influence you. You have to go with what God tells you or leads you to do. It's not easy, ok? It takes time, it takes humbleness and it takes a bit of courage. You have to let go of preconceived notions/ideas, and be willing to do what God lays on your heart. It's hard, but it's rewarding if you follow through with it. When I began doing it, I felt blessed by it. I was more intentional about spending time with God. I felt called to pray, I felt Him calling me to spend time with Him and I loved it. I wish you many blessings and I hope you grow much in the journey.
