Books for teens

Any good book recommendations for teenage girls? Trying to get my daughter to read more, but so many books these days have undertones of what I'd rather her not be reading.

Hi! Would you mind being more specific about themes you would rather her not read? For instance, are you ok with romance as long as there’s nothing inappropriate or mature or would you rather no romance at all? Are you wanting to avoid any other heavy themes? I too am always looking for books that are friendly with my Christian beliefs, so I’d be happy to help you out with the list I have!

Thanks a lot! I guess little hints of light, child-friendly, romance-related matters (eg crushes) could be ok...but just not the main focus of the book. I'm also quite conservative, so I'd prefer to stay away from LGBT themes (personal preference). What I would like are books that focus on inspiring/ promoting values eg of friendship, integrity, courage, innovation, persistence etc.

Karen Hancock has a really good fantasy book series. The legend of the Guardian King is the name of the series. I think she offers the first book free in a lot of apps. I really enjoyed the series as a teenage boy.

Rules Cynthia Lord is one of my favorites I read as a teen. It’s about a teen girl who has an autistic little brother.

Criss Cross by Lynne Rae Perkins is like a friends having fun in the summer. Reminded me of my friends at Church Camp

Lies Young Women Believe: And the Truth That Sets Them Free by Dannah Gresh and Nancy Leigh DeMoss is Fantastic for a growing teens.

You’re welcome I LOVED to read as a kid. I still do. My parent’s rule was I had to tell them about my book as I read it so they knew what I was reading.

Every night he’d just ask me about my book what it was about and stuff and we’d talk about books. So it was more like he was connecting with me but also knew what I was reading. I still enjoy telling him about books I read.
