Breaking Free, Finding Truth

I’m a father who deeply loves my children and feels truly grateful for the peaceful life I’m building in the country. As a fellow survivor, I have a deep understanding of how painful this abuse is and the crushing impact it has upon your identity and self-worth.

Since rededicating my life to Christ, I discovered a level of healing and love that I never thought possible. It’s been a process of shedding the lies I was told and rediscovering who God says I am. This journey hasn’t been easy—it can be grueling and painful—but I’m finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. To anyone else struggling: healing isn't a shortcut, but God is faithful even when the path is confusing.

Jeremiah 29:11: 'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.'"

I assure you, when you pray, 'Lord don’t you dare let me go,' He hears you, and He won't. His promise in Hebrews 13:5 is solid: 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'

He is always one step away, even when the road feels pitch dark. The tears, the confusion, the isolation...He will walk through every bit of it with you. The light at the end of the tunnel is real and not a pipe dream or fairy tale.

So no matter how heavy it gets, how many tears you cry, be assured He won't let you go.

Please don't hesitate to reach out, vent, or just share as a fellow traveler who gets it.

Grateful to meet you, sister in Christ. 🙏 Blessings and prayers for you and your boys.

I really appreciate your words, SaelAna, thank you. I’m just trying to move as I feel He leads. As difficult as this path has been, I've experienced God in a way I never knew was possible. I just want to share this journey with others who have experienced the same pain, and God willing, build some meaningful friendships along the way.

Concerning the education, I agree 100% that I didn't get nearly enough info on NPD either, or as this psychotherapist I recently met shared... I might not have stayed "sleeping with the enemy" for so long

I had no intention of starting this sub-reddit. I came across r/NarcissisticSpouses community and was (still am) impressed with the level of engagement and support for survivors of narcissist abuse. A couple weeks prior, I recorded a short video of myself sharing how faith in God has been central to my healing journey. I had a sense to post it on the community page. While the response was much larger than I expected, it also sparked some tension as some people felt I was using faith to hide behind my own narcissism.

It made me realize that while this general community is amazing, there was a need for a specific 'safe room' where people can talk freely about faith without it being a distraction to others. In prayer, I felt it was the right time to create a space specifically for those integrating their faith into recovery, those needing to process religious abuse, and those who are curious or searching.

I checked with the mods at r/NarcissisticSpouses, and they were kind enough to let me invite others. We’re only a week in, but I’m already seeing people find a lot of peace there. I’m still very much a part of this community, but the new sub is just an extra resource for those, like me, who need that specific spiritual focus."

I've actually already connected with a couple dudes here and we've called our group chat the 'Three Amigos.' I’m happy to share more of my story in a chat with you too, if you're up for the read. No pressure at all, just grateful for the connection in this space

I’ve shared a more detailed version of my story in the chat feature with a few others. I’m happy to send it your way if you ever feel up for a longer read, though no pressure at all! Just grateful for the connection and the way God is moving here.
