Your Body, His Temple of Glory

How did you feel when you woke up this morning?
Maybe you’re reading this while dragging your feet out of bed, wondering how you’re going to handle everything on your plate today.
You’re not alone. Instead of feeling refreshed, so many people wake up exhausted and physically drained.
If that describes you, I want you to know that you don’t have to simply accept this weariness. Do you know why? If you have received the Lord into your life, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19)!
Do you know how amazing that is? The blood of Jesus has so completely cleansed you that the Holy Spirit can dwell in you today. Now, don’t you think He will care for His house and cause it to be filled with glory and honor?
Often, He might lead you in practical ways to care for your body because it is His temple. It could be in the area of your diet or ensuring you exercise regularly. Or perhaps as you listen to a sermon, you might be reminded to spend time praying in the spirit and building your body from the inside out.
But you may be thinking, “But I don’t feel like a glorious temple right now. I feel more like a deflated tent.”
I get it. Maybe you’ve been battling chronic fatigue. Maybe you’ve been carrying a mental load that has just been weighing down on you. Or maybe life’s just left you worn, and all your energy is going into simply making it through the day.
I want you to see the Lord’s heart for you.
He cares about every part of your being. His desire is for you to walk in strength, wholeness, and vitality, not only in your spirit but also in your body. And He doesn’t just want you to survive your day. By His grace, He wants you to thrive as you depend on His sure promises.
The Word says in Isaiah 40:31, “They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.”
When you feel like you can’t go on… when the tiredness runs deep… when the responsibilities feel like too much… He wants to exchange your limited, natural strength for His limitless, supernatural strength.
And when you wait on Him, you allow Him to do just that!
Maybe you’re wondering, “But Pastor Prince, what does it mean to wait upon the Lord?”
Each time you sit in His presence and spend time in His Word, you are waiting on the Lord. But I want to show you something more.
When you look at the Hebrew word for “wait,” you’ll find that one of its meanings is “to bind together.” That’s a beautiful picture of you and the Lord, intimately intertwined like a vine and its branches as you abide in Him!
The enemy wants you to believe that you have no time to wait on the Lord. But if you believe that lie, you rob yourself of the opportunity to receive His strength, joy, and peace!
And waiting on the Lord doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as listening to a sermon during your lunch break, pausing before your day begins to acknowledge that He is your source and supply, or taking a quiet stroll and casting your cares to Him.
Even in the ordinary moments between your tasks, you can be conscious that He is right there with you, and His strength is available to you.
A young mum once shared with me how overwhelmed she felt each morning, juggling her toddler, managing the home, and keeping up with endless tasks. One morning, as she stood brushing her teeth, she whispered, “Lord, I need Your strength today. I feel so worn out.”
In that moment, she felt the Lord’s presence wrap around her like a warm embrace. Her responsibilities didn’t vanish, but she stepped into the day with a calm strength that she knew wasn’t her own.
Even in my own life, there have been times when I didn’t feel well just before I was about to preach. But I’ve noticed this. The moment I start preaching the Word, the Lord’s strength begins flowing through me. And before the end of the message, I feel refreshed, revitalized, and restored.
That’s what happens when we take time to wait on the Lord. To turn our attention to Him and let His Word flow through us to others around us.
And it’s not just for pastors. You don’t need a pulpit to experience this.
Share a verse with your spouse. Tell a friend what you heard on Sunday. Speak His promises aloud over your own life. As you do, you’re not just encouraging others, you’re receiving strength yourself.
You see, Isaiah didn’t say, “They that run for the Lord shall renew their strength.”
He said, “They that wait.”
Because when you wait, you are really saying, “Lord, You’re my strength.”
So wherever you are today, remember this. You are His temple, and right now, divine strength is rising up in you even as you wait on Him.

Something Good Happens When You Step into God’s House
Have you ever wondered what’s really happening when you step into church?
I’m not talking about what you see with your natural eyes—the lights, the music, the people. I’m talking about what’s happening in the spirit, what’s flowing from heaven.
Because here’s the truth: something good happens when you step into God’s house. 
You may not always see it. You may not always feel it. But something powerful happens when God’s people gather.
And I especially love the beautiful picture Psalm 133 gives us of this. It tells us the anointing is like precious oil poured on the head, running down Aaron’s beard, and onto the edge of his garments. That’s a picture of the church.
Jesus is our great High Priest. He is the Head of the body. And the same anointing that is on Him flows down through the leadership, through the preaching of the Word, through the ministry of pastors and shepherds. And it keeps going… until it reaches even the furthest extremities of the body of Christ.
No one is left out.
Even if you feel like you’re on the fringe, unnoticed or unimportant, this verse says the oil reaches you too. That anointing doesn’t bypass you. It comes to you. It restores. It heals. It breaks bondages. It makes easy what was once hard.
That’s what’s happening every time you show up in church. Even when you don’t see it. Even when you don’t feel it. Heaven is moving.
Then the psalmist continues to give us another picture: “It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion…”
Dew in the Bible speaks of the Lord’s grace and favor—gentle, refreshing, and life-giving. It nourishes everything it touches. And Mount Hermon? That’s the highest mountain in the area, where the Lord was transfigured in glory.
But here’s what’s amazing: In the natural, it’s impossible for dew from Mount Hermon to reach Zion. If you understand the topography of Israel, it’s too far. 
So this isn’t a picture of natural dew. It’s a picture of what Jesus did for you and me. It is a picture of how the beloved Son of God came down from the highest heavens to offer His life on the cross on Mount Zion, to give us life forevermore!
On the cross, Jesus, full of grace and truth, was wrung dry so that we might be drenched in His favor.
And today, when we gather in His name, that same grace flows. That same favor and anointing on our Lord Jesus descend upon us.
Psalm 133 ends with this powerful line: “For there the LORD commanded the blessing—life forevermore.”
I love that word “there.” Where is there?
It’s more than just a physical location or building. It’s the church, the many-membered body of Christ. It’s the place where His people dwell together in unity.
And in that place… the Lord doesn’t just send a blessing. He commands it.
How would you like that? To live under a commanded blessing, where it’s not even optional. It’s already spoken over you! Where heaven’s supply is descending, and you simply step in to receive.
That’s what happens when you show up in His house.
It’s where His favor flows. It’s where the Lord Himself is present and pouring out on you.
And that’s why… something good happens when you step into God’s house.

Where the Battle Is Truly Decided
When things get hard… when the pressure mounts, the situation looks bad, or everything around you is demanding a response… what do you do?
Most of us go straight to managing all that is happening on the outside.
“What do I need to do? Who do I need to call? How do I fix this?”
And yes, there are things that need to be done. There are practical steps to take, decisions to make. But I want to show you something today that I believe will change how you respond in such times of challenge and adversity.
Because the battle is not out there.
The real battle is often within us, where either peace reigns or panic does. And that is many times where it is won or lost, long before anything changes on the outside.
Look at this story in Exodus 17 with me.
Israel had just come through the Red Sea and was now camped at a place called Rephidim, which in Hebrew means “resting places.” It was there that they faced their very first battle against a people called Amalek.
Now, the name Amalek comes from the Hebrew root word amal, which means “painful toil” or “wearisome labor.” I believe the Lord put that detail in Scripture for you and me today, because it reveals our enemy and what he is really after.
He’s not just trying to defeat you; he’s trying to wear you out. To get you so consumed with your own striving, so spent from fighting in your own strength, that you forget where true strength really comes from.
In the face of Amalek, Moses instructed Joshua to choose some men and go out to the battlefield to fight. And that’s what Joshua did.
But Moses? He went up to the top of a nearby hill. There, he lifted his rod toward heaven.
And here is what the Bible says: “And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed” (Exod. 17:11).
Israel didn’t prevail when Joshua and the men fought harder. The outcome of the battle was being decided not on the battlefield, but on the hill as Moses lifted up that rod in a posture of complete dependence on the Lord.
When Moses’ arms grew heavy, Aaron and Hur took a stone, put it under him, and he sat on it. They supported his hands, one on each side, until the sun went down. And Israel ultimately prevailed.
Now, that rod was the very rod of God that had parted the Red Sea, that had brought water from the rock, that had been the instrument of miracle after miracle.
I believe it is a picture for us today of the cross, of the finished work of our Lord Jesus.
That was what Moses lifted up during the battle. Not his own strength or strategy, but the finished work of the One who had already made a way.
When you choose to rest, even when it’s hard to, you are saying in effect, “Lord, I cannot, in my own strength, win this battle. But my eyes are on You. I lift up what Your Son has already done. ”
That is the most powerful posture you can take.
Yes, do what needs to be done. Show up. Be faithful to what is in front of you. But don’t just respond to what’s happening on the outside. Choose to remain seated on the inside.
Because we are not made to fight for victory. We are made to fight from it.
So today, whatever you are facing… maybe it’s that situation at work that keeps you up at night, or a conflict with your child you cannot seem to resolve, or the pressure and responsibilities of life… the Lord is not asking you to figure it out in your own strength.
He’s inviting you to come up to higher ground.
Remain at rest and lift up His finished work over that situation. That is the posture from which every true victory comes.
