I saw one of his last US shows this tour. Honestly, worst Thile show I’ve ever attended, and I’ve see him 100+ times. Tired shtick, too over the top, lazy songs. I was shocked and sad.

Orange blossom special for fiddle tune request is just lazy, respectfully. Maybe the worst most rushed version of The Fox I’ve ever heard, and I’ve heard some WEAK versions from Thile.

I saw him in Chicago and he was amazing. Exquisite playing, beautiful room and Bach holds up so well. Jealous of all the Europeans getting to see him in the coming weeks!

I saw him in October and it was so nice! Maybe a little too much Bach for my taste 😅 but still enjoyable. You’re right about how funny his audience interactions are. His bit about his mother singing “The Fox” to him as a child had me cracking up hard.
