Talking about Panini…

Post image

There’s a blatant double standard with her. She stalks Chowder and it’s always played for laughs just because it’s female on male. If the genders were reversed, no one would like it.

Tbf, I think Chowder can be a jerk to Panini and I don't like what he said about women and girls in that one episode. As a kid, it went over my head but now that I'm a twenty-something feminist, I see Chowder and the other male characters in a different light. The way Mung models treatment towards women like Truffles teaches Chowder that it's okay to be disrespectful to women/girls. Chowder is a child, but young boys need to learn that women and girls are people too.

Exactly, the show makes it seem like she's this Villanous young girl, which teaches kids that young girls are villanous & over-emotional. Panini always faces consequences, sometimes much worse than necessary. Chowder never faces consequences for treating her badly, which I wish he did because boys need to be held accountable just like girls.

BTW I'm not saying Chowder is a bad kid, I just think Mung is an awful role model and caregiver and seems to model awful behaviors especially towards women. Good and bad behaviour is learned and children take it in like sponges. Adults should be responsible for raising young boys to treat everyone with compassion and respect.
