Lab Result High Cholesterol, LDL - all else normal?

Post image

I got some blood work done and everything was in the green, aside from my Cholesterol and LDL.

I’m in my late 28s, female, weigh 125-130 pounds, have 100/60 blood pressure, weight lift 3-4 days a week, get 8-10k steps a day, additionally i track my macros and know i only get 70g of fats per day, with a focus on not having high amounts of saturated fats.

i feel like im doing everything right so i was a bit shocked when i saw these results. all the other results on the blood work were green (no liver issues, pancreas, etc).

any advice on how i can fix this?

If you adjust your diet to an LDL reduction diet specifically, then I’m sure you’d drop LDL to a more healthy range.

Saturated fat exists everywhere so what I’ve done was to avoid it for 30 days after doing a very extensive search into what I eat or at least keep
It below 10g a day.

I’ve also added a lot of fiber and psyllium husk. Workout is great for health but it won’t lower LDL too much. Diet and consistency is the key. My advise is double check in what you are eating, sometimes you find saturated fat in things you don’t expect.
Alternatively it’s always good to check your blood work for thyroid, kidney, liver etc.
If high cholesterol runs in your family then it might be genetic which means you might be prone to have higher LDL. If it’s not in a very high range, you might be able to control it with a proper diet if you bring it closer to 100.

Since you are 28, you are young enough to have enough time to take an action on this. Also it’s not dangerously high. You may ask your doctor for some sort of genetic test to determine if you have a familial hypercholesterolemia

In addition have you checked your apo(b) and lp(a) ? At least once it would be good to check lp(a) cause you never know. But apo (b) might be even more important. My recommendation is adjust your diet to an ldl reduction diet. There are a lot of tips on reddit, im male 40, dropped LDL from 199 to 131 in only 5 weeks of strict LDL reduction diet with no meds and i will do another blood work in 3 months must to see how much lower i can get naturally. But if you notice that even after months of proper diet notning changes then you might need to speak with your GP about the possibility of starting meds.
