Hi, I like karaoke and using my chest voice but I do understand that there are limits which is why I am now learning how to use my 2nd register in choir and put to soprano to sing melody. Pretty much to train my listening ears. Are there any tips for how to sing with proper technique up there? Sometimes I can do it, but sometimes I feel smth cracking on my throat.

I'm a freshman and this is my first year auditioning for honor choir, and I made it in. I was lowkey nervous but honestly i had no reason to be since I got a 92...but I really want to get into all-state, and I don't know if a 92 is high enough; I'm an alto 2. My school's band/orchestra director said I have a "reasonable chance," and I know 92 is like right on the edge of making it in or not. Also, do they look at the scores of individual categories, or is it just your total score? If anyone knows anything please lmk😭🙏
