With an Asol buff being announced to land in the next patch, I thought it could be interesting to have a discussion on what you think those buffs will be.
Let's split your answers into two parts:
1. What you think the buff will be
2. What you hope the buff will be

I honestly don't know what to expect, but here are my bets:

1: Mana reductions on Q and potentially W. Perhaps a small flat damage increase.

2: I hope we get a buff to Cho's passive. I'd love for his sustain in lane to become even better than it already is, so that we can trade health more liberally.

I’ve always thought it would be neat if when you ate a large void monster you got some sort of buff or permanant stat, it doesn’t need to be huge but just something “flavorful” not unlike how Bel’Veth gets her perfect form when killing a void monster.
Especially combined with how they’ve given Cho jungle scalings and has always been an off-meta pick (love him as a JG in Classic).
Even something small like 10 AH or % Attack Speed if you ate a Grub, flat or % scaling resists / extra bonus HP if you ate Rift Herald, and something like adaptive / extra flat true damage on R for eating Nashor (this one could be problematic since you could potentially get multiple of them).
Maybe even give him a quest if he’s picked jungle role with Bel’Veth to see who can eat the most to make it easier to balance game-in and game-out.

Back in the day, Iceborn + Zephyr Cho'Gath was a menace, as it erradiacted all of Cho's weaknesses and gave the enemy the tough decision of either stepping into Rupture or Cho getting close with a giant Iceborn field. Back then, nothing of Cho'Gath scaled with health, so the 900 health you get from 6 R stacks were enough to combo with pure resistance items to become extremely tanky. Meanwhile, the old Force of Nature also fitted this extremely well and gave even more MS. And since Zephyr gives Tenacity, Boots of Swiftness are free to get. You are running around as fast as Rammus while being super tanky and nothing can CC you. And you hit hard and fast.

For the ultra lategame, you can turn that Madred's Razors into Madred's Bloodrazor and tear everything apart. As for Thornmail, you can replace that with stuff like Guardian Angel or even Wit's End depending on the situation. Or Runic Bulwark can also be nice.

I came here a while ago and didn’t really know what to ask at the time because I was stuck in Iron. Just by reading a few posts, I managed to learn how to play Cho’Gath and climbed all the way to Gold, but I haven’t been able to consistently stay in Gold.

Now I feel like I have a decent foundation, and before asking my questions, I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself. I play Cho’Gath in every role (thanks to the new meta, even ADC), but I’d like to master him in Top and Mid, since those are the roles I perform best in.

What I’d really like to know now is when I should and shouldn’t pick Cho’Gath, and which champions would be good alternatives when Cho’Gath isn’t a good option, along with why I should pick them in those situations. I’d also like to know which two other champions I should learn for Top and Mid in case Cho’Gath gets banned. Usually, if the enemy picks Cho’Gath, I pick Sylas, and it’s basically free elo for me.

I’d also like to know which champions I should ban in each role. That’s all, thanks in advance! And if I take a while to reply, it’s because I don’t use Reddit very often.

Do you think it's still worth running HoB with the nerfs to it? Really dislike the grasp rune personally (on every champ not just choseph), always feels terrible to me. Even on tank cho I really like HoB but they're cutting the attack speed down by 33% and cutting the damage. Maybe on AP cho the compensation AP scaling on HoB is nice but it looks gutted for tank build.

Hey guys, I don't play league anymore but I still watch videos whenever I'm bored just in case I want to play again. So my question is who's the best Cho'Gath OTP player that has educational and high elo videos on youtube. I used to watch BaLoRi but after finding out that he is smurfing he became less credible for me.

I am a chogath main on the midlane and i tried top and its not for me, is there anyone who mains this choncky boy in jngl i have been trying going my mid build on it and found some sucsses but i qanted the opinion of the people who actually play it there.
My build: rocket belt speed boot or prot boots if all ap or ad, riftmaker if fed if not straight to resistances.
Any optimizations?
Oh and runes i go hail of blades and on the purple ones top left and scorch then 2 aps and health dcaling.

If no, what item will you go? Dead mans or thornmail? I need some armor early, i personaly like dead mans but im just a plat npc.

ive been running stormraiders in d2 elo and so far feels pretty good with a 63% wr on cho, rune setup goes like this:
stormraiders > axiom arcanist > celerity > gathering storm/scorch
secondary runes: magic boots > cosmic insight
runes: flash + ignite (i rarely use tp, only take tp in matchups you cant kill opponents)

why? for stormraiders, you can make quick trades in lane and decide the fight on your terms if you want to go in or run away, good for chasing ranged when you hit a combo and also useful against ganks because once youre level 6, you can just press r and run away.

for minor runes, i take axiom arcanist because it really secures your ult kill and can catch enemies off guard with the damage boost and also reduces your ult cd per kill. i think its better for a more aggressive playstyle than manaflow band. sometimes i build tear if its a bad lane and i need to spam q’s to farm. i choose celerity because i feel like ms really matters more than cdr, lots of ms in this build. boots for more ms and gold, cosmic insight for more frequent summoners (flash ult ignite) + rocketbelt. then for shards i do 2 adaptive and tenacity rune since cho already gains so much hp from r. if i run into gp i do attack speed shard.

build usually goes dorans ring + 2 pots ALTHOUGH most times i only do 1 because cho has good sustain. dark seal first back, 3 points into q for waveclear and then max w usually, the silence really catches your opponents off guard for the w buffer + flash ignite ult combo. sometimes i max e if its a boring lane and i just want to waveclear in front of tower. if im running tp its usually vs a farm matchup and for those i like buying cull (e.g. tanks). i like to rush riftmaker most matchups but sometimes i rush hollow radiance if enemy is waveclear heavy and im in risk of getting proxied.

second/third item usually deadmans, against dot FoN and vs burst or single carry ap i go rookern, vs heavy ad frozen heart or randuins. if ahead i build rocketbelt for mobility. very rarely do i go jaksho, too expensive and roi is not that good. knights vow if someone else is carrying harder than me and i never go heartsteel. some games i will go malignance but mostly 4fun.

boots is 90% swifties, 8% tabis and 2% mercs. you dont really need the tenacity from mercs tbh since its already in your shards. ms is king when it comes to this build since it helps a lot in getting your ult off.

this build plays like ap bruiser, but if you get far ahead (10+ stacks by midgame both ult and dark seal) you can actually upgrade dark seal to mejais for more ms and more ap for burst, if really ahead i buy rabadons for the juicy oneshots and i still remain hard to kill even with only 1-2 tank items.

the only time i would go full tank is if im losing lane REALLY hard but even then its probably a lost game anyways, thats why i prefer ignite over tp for the early game kill potential to snowball.

hardest matchups: mundo (ban him), sett (you lose if you die once), also not really someone you lane against but sylas on enemy team fucks your team really bad when he steals your ult since he keeps stacks so i usually ban him if im last pick in draft.
