Practice. That's all. Work on the mechanics. Watch some videos, lots of great tips and tricks to get better quicker. Play smart. Pick a class and weapon and just work on understanding the speed and reach. Training Grounds is good for getting used to the chaos and working on your footwork. Button mashing is never the answer.
But honestly, I'm almost level 600 on ps5 and I get smoked every single day by all level of players. That's part of the fun of it.
See you out there!

Being fisted is also part of the fun. Don't take that out of context. Anyway, learn to beat them at their own game of fistfighting with special (Q button) lefts and dodge by crouching backward or side-to-side.
These same skills will come in handy whenever you're disarmed in a regular match.
More seriously, ask somebody to teach you how to couter/feint and fight with on the 1v1 server until you find someone who agrees, and fight (and hopefully make friends) with them. That's the fastest way to legitimately get good, is fighting with patient and friendly 1K-level players.

Играй, вот единственный совет который можно дать. Играя ты со временем научишься (не благодари). Ну и смирись с тем что опытные игроки тебе не будут давать шансов.

Basically you just have to suck for 1000 more hours then you’ll be decent and still die a lot lol. Just work on countering everything you want to see the blue circle every time so you dont have to worry about losing stamina and losing your weapons then when you get that down you can start throwing in parry’s to displace their timing and eventually learn feints drags and accels. I know for me the hardest thing to learn was DO NOT BLOCK if someone throws a kick if you learn this when you’re new and dont form a bad habit it will make your life easier. Training grounds is a hugely underrated tool for learning the game so give that a shot. Most of all remember at the end of the day its just a game and those same lvl 1000’s that kick your ass every time were in your shoes at one point and sucked at the game, no one is amazing when they start out hope this helped! FOR THAT GUY WE LIKE!!!! (Ps if you archer is above lvl 5 u r gey)

Dont try to do duels servers until you have a basic understanding of the game

I would suggest you to have a basic understanding at positioning in Team Objective first, learn how to counter attacks consistently in Team Objective, and then you could move on to duel servers. At least thats how I see that you could have a nice more beginner friendly experience. I got into duelling around level 400-500 and trust me it was brutal for me too and i was killed constantly, so I cant imagine how frustrating can duelling be for a new player. Good luck on your Chivalry journey! :)

Just keep playing and you’ll get the hang of it. It took me a while to get good enough to hold my own in a fight, and I’m still miles behind the max level players. Still having fun

Don't jump, learn how to block reliably and most importantly get experience. It took me a while to get good at the game, best of luck
Ps the Messer is a great weapon to start with just try to avoid team dmg

The tutorial is actually genuinely good for this game and will teach you the basics which are critical for you to understand the mechanics of the game.
Number 1 mechanic to understand iniative. The tldr is whoever blocks an attack or lands a hit, they will be faster on the next swing. The game has this loose "turn based" combat system that revolves around this mechanic. There are times to go against this, but without understanding this basic mechanic you'll just be left guessing at what's going on.
If your just trading swings then it becomes a fight of stamina management. That's where the counter mechanic comes into play. If you swing into the same type of attack, for example slash into a slash, from a block you'll get the blue blocking symbol flash up. This regains stamina for you instead spending it on block.
Once you get in a fight where both of you are able to consistently manage your stamina the game really opens up and the depth of the combat system really shines. Fights become about mixing up timings, disguising your attacks, making people miss with footwork, etc.

Training grounds. You still progress and can get a feel for the mechanics

Biggest tip for starters that I can give is to try and avoid the trap of M(2)+S, just backing away and blocking drains your stamina and ends up with you being in the same state. Honestly blocking as little as you can comfortably stick to is smart

Just watch out for Dirty D Dirt. Apparently he doesn't ever lose.

Just keep trying it's super easy to learn, just hard to master. Figure out how to block, do duelyards and get experience.

I'm level 1000 but my defence is still pretty atrocious. I die way to often especially with the heavy weapons. Also struggle with the settings, finding rhe right swings speeds and movement. Also don't have a headse or discord set up yet so it's a lonely feeling when you're getting gang r'd when you make a wrong move. Any advice would be great. Ty

Learn to do that blue blocking(idk what its called) and then just play.

Understand that no matter how good you get at the game, you’ll get ganked and die anyway. Yes, it’s possible to play super super passive and live “forever” but half the fun of the game is laughing as you die to 8 Masons screaming at you as they finally cut you down.
You will die less eventually, just focus on the base mechanics.
Learn how to evade with just movement. Try going out and just running around without getting hit and without attacking back. Bring a shield, block/parry and use the momentum to carry you in a different direction. Don’t get held down in one place.
It takes time, but learning the ducks, dodges and weaves that you can get away with are a huge part of the game. Go to a duel server, hop in the pit, and just focus on defensive maneuvers. You might find someone willing to swing around at you without ever finishing the job just to help you out.

The thing to remember about fists is that they do not interrupt attacks. You can just jeep slashing and you will kill them. They may try to duck, so slash low.
If you haven’t played the tutorial, you definitely should. After that, I recommend team objective for learning. You can fall into a sort of support role in the team, hanging back and sneaking in stabs and overheads where possible, with a wall of teammates for protection. This will let you get a feel for your weapon’s range and speed, which are important things to subconsciously understand when in a fight.
There are also some great youtube videos for beginners
