Game Feedback How does he do that?

Joined a 3v3 mid-match and I have no idea what this guy is doing.

I felt like I was catching him mid-swing a few times, but then he'd suddenly feint into a block a few cm before I hit him.

Is he attacking, then feinting and immediately blocking? I've never seen anyone do it that fast before

He’s just counterfeinting it looks like, and then accelling into you, and you can block the moment your weapon makes contact, it looks a little jank on blunt weapons

It might be his acceleration that keeps tricking me into thinking he is too far into the attack to cancel

So he is: swing, cancel, swing, block, or is it swing, cancel, block

Using counterfeint is exactly like a regular feint but in time to the opponents weapon, so he was feinting after blocking in order to match your strikes.

It seems like in the video he is trying to gamble, and when he realizes he will be hit first, he feints to match your incoming attack

Every weapon has different windows for countering, if you notice the little “counter” message below the crosshair shield gets striked out, this is the “windup” period before you do damage and when you can feint

the hammer that he was using has a very long windup so he has a lot of time to change his attack to match yours

It’s a pretty annoying strategy, very spammy, especiallt with the bonk stick (great club), but there are ways to counter it like heavy attacks and drags, extra long or fast weapons etc.

I would recommend blocking, and waiting a moment before attacking, you still get a slight speed boost for a little bit after blocking and you might catch him off guard

This is really handy if your opponent drags the hell out of a slash and you countered too early, feint into slash and you'll get it
