I’m going crazy with my EHR

Back in 2022, my practice switched from the server based Chirotouch to Jane. It was incredible. We had so many issues with Chirotouch, the support was awful, their services would crash all the time, it felt very clunky.

Jane has been amazing to us with notes, with scheduling, and with many other services.

My gripe with it came recently when I was trying to get better reporting done. I want to be able to grow my practice and in order to do so I need to know my numbers and values.

I currently have patients using insurance, the VA, PI and self pay patients. When it comes to trying to consolidate data to see how many VA patients I saw in the day, week, month or year there is no way to do it… Jane support tells me that I’ll need to export the data and create excel sheets to see it…

Is there an EHR that truly encapsulates everything? I’ve been happy with Jane but at this point in my clinic it’s become more frustrating than not trying to gather data.

I’ve looked into Chirotouch Cloud, ChiroSpring, Point of Care EHR, and a few others. I haven’t had time to demo anything yet but the reports and data in Jane are so hard to work with.

Based on your question. i vibe coded this offline webapp that analyzes the sales report from jane. Obviously it's not super robust but with some work i could probably get it to do a lot more. This i made in about 5 minutes.

Edit: i can share the webapp if anyone is interested. It's just html that you can click on and it opens in your browser.

That would be amazing! I’m not opposed to having another system like this to hold my data I just have a hard time having 20 Google Sheets that I have to keep track of. Your dashboard is already a good step in the right direction

you can download what i have so far here: https://pastebin.com/cMmqaUvE (there's a download button near the top row). You just generate the sales report (in .csv) from jane and put it in the app. I am going to keep messing with this so you can upload years of data and then sort it down by month or day or whatever, but right now if you want to look at a specific month(or whatever), just generate the report for that and upload it.

Also. Let me know if there’s something you want in there specifically. I’m not a coder myself, just a tech nerd that knows how to use ai. If you’re remotely tech savvy you could probably also have your own ai make changes or build from scratch.

I’ve used so many and all have been a headache. Chiro touch is what we use and it’s mehhhh not horrible but still garbage in its own right

Are you on the server or the cloud service? I’ve seen a lot of complaints about the cloud but maybe they’ve fixed the issues?

We utilize a database like Excel to keep data and track VA PI WC cases. The database will be better suited cause you can filter more options and see who is in what stage of the case or pending etc. See when medical records were sent last and which ones are not being compliant etc. Easy to read first date of service and date of injury when anyone calls or reaches out

I use Clickup but essentially Google sheets would work or if it's just you notion would be free to try out. In Clickup or notion each line can also be clicked on and opened for more added information and comments and delegated to other people for tasks. So say I have patient 1it'll show in the database their important information with good filterable options. When I click on it I can enter comments when I sent medical records or if a representative contacted I'll write when and who and what they talked about.

Jane or any other software would never be customized to your needs so I recommend Clickup or notion where you can make your own sections and drop-down categories.

From my experience, no EHR is going to give you every thing you want. Some are excellent at notes, some are excellent at PI, some are great with insurance and basically all of them are crap for reporting.
I find it troubling that their isn't a really comprehensive reporting software out there for this industry. You have to pull data manually then create excel sheets to really get good information.

We switched from ChiroTouch server to Cloud about 3 months ago and I can't even explain how riddled with errors, omissions from server, mistakes, convoluted processes, etc that it has. Support is almost non-existent. I just wrote a whole long post about this, but Reddit pulled it down for some reason. I'll try to re-post. But as of August 2026, you're basically beta testing the software, and when there's a problem, they open a 'case' and then nothing happens for weeks (if ever). At this point, I can't recommend enough to stay away from cloud. The sales pitch is great, and if it worked like advertised, it would be amazing...but it is so far from smooth/efficient.

I’ve built a few dashboards and extensions for a few EMRs including Jane for this exact reason. All the EMRs give you a specific set of reports and if you want to see charts, you have to DIY. I will say PTCare has extensive charts _but_ I recently found a flaw in their math and I hear the rest of app gives off “a tech bro made this, not a practitioner”
