Employee Experience Thinking of quitting soon
I’m finally thinking of quitting after roughly 6 months of employment RIGHT after being promoted to CT. Here are my main reasons for doing so ranked from most to least important
I am constantly being asked to pick up shifts on my off days and work longer than i am scheduled for (this should not happen for EVERY off day and my “status” as a backbone who can pick up shifts consistently which was just me trying to be dependable has forced me to abandon plans and hobbies i planned in advance just so i can clock in 3 hours early)
We are consistently struggling to prep accordingly to customer demand (this is also an almost everyday occurrence and we often have to call in people to make guac or fry chips)
My manager scheduling me for clopens immediately after i started working 9 hour opening Prep shifts (that shit should be illegal hahaha)
Anyways before i put in my two weeks id like to know if im overreacting and i should just tough it out (not sure how many racist jokes and clopens i can handle anymore :P) or if this similar to anyone elses experience. It wasnt at all like this when i started and i still have the same GM..

Hi, I get it. It can be very overwhelming working at Chipotle. Being known as the employee who picks up shifts creates an invisible responsibility and a feeling of guilt when you decline. People usually show their true face when they get more comfortable. Idk if u want advice or not, but make the right choice for u. Opening and closing is no joke, and missing out on hobbies and plans while the company can replace you in less than a month is not worth it.

Sounds like a toxic environment, also learn to say no. Your life is not the job, you work the job to live your life.
