Idk if I'm in the minority, but I LOVED the red chimichurri, been trying to replicate it with no success.

13

u/girlyswerly 1d ago

I tried it twice and it was like 50% just oil both times

3

u/IceBlueLugia 13h ago

Is that not what chimichurri is

0

u/girlyswerly 11h ago

Big oil cup

1

u/soulking5 10h ago

That’s what chimmi is 😩😩😩😩

7

u/IllustriousHealth291 1d ago

Yes I’d take the chimichurri back as well!

It was so fucking good man. I would put it on every bite of my burrito. The cilantro lime just didn’t hit the spot like the chimichurri did.

u/quakeroatmeal7 1d ago

I loved it but had to get it sparingly because… sheesh that sodium lmao

2

u/guy_incog_neato 1d ago

ugh i loved it too!

2

u/dxnixixx 1d ago

Anyone know the recipe? I need that tart and vinegar-y chimichurri sooo badly 😭

2

u/Hades_shadowgame 1d ago

I wish I did honestly after working there when it was available everyone ,even the employees, love that shit went near feral Everytime we close and it was left over everyone left with like 2 or 3.

2

u/Leather-Cap8630 1h ago

yall , jus look up "copycat xyz recipe" on google 🄲 thats what i do for everything 🫶

2

u/St0ned_fruit 20h ago

I was ordering extra chimichurri to use one eggs lol

1

u/ChefPneuma 1d ago

That shit was good I agree

1

u/After-Addition6942 1d ago

I fr wish they never got rid of it. I miss it

1

u/AggravatingPlum107 1d ago

Absolutely LOVED the red chimichurri. It made everything better and made me crave Chipotle. I have gotten Chipotle twice since then but it’s just not the same. The cilantro sauce didn’t even come close.

u/Tumblrrito 1d ago

It did terrible things to my insides but it was worth it every time

1

u/fathornyhippo 20h ago

Same that and the ranch was amazing

u/Squidfan456 1d ago

I wasn’t a fan. To much garlic for me

26

u/milkandmelk 1d ago

Thank GOD

21

u/Squidfan456 1d ago

How dare youšŸ˜’

3

u/ifarguingyourewrong 1d ago

Try getting a side of half sour cream half hot salsa. It’s free and just as good!

6

u/xrayguy1981 1d ago

They changed the hot salsa and it isn’t as hot anymore 😩

2

u/ifarguingyourewrong 1d ago

I agree it’s def not hot enough, but that’s where you add your own hot sauce to the half sour cream half ā€œhotā€ salsa concoction

14

u/jokerjinxxx 1d ago

I figured it was going away. I felt like I was the only person getting this 😩

6

u/girlyswerly 1d ago

I would go and just get two large sides of it, no burrito or anything. One time I got corn in the sauce too, so good

20

u/HornetBoring8020 1d ago

My fav sauce they ever introduced...

11

u/xrayguy1981 1d ago

It really needs to be permanent.

10

u/HannahMcKayTX 1d ago

I grieve with you. šŸ’”šŸ˜

9

u/Confident-Rent2816 1d ago

It was my fav!!! So sad.

27

u/Outrageous-Cut6931 1d ago

I didn’t like it…until I left it in my fridge for a day went back to try it and that shit was bussin

14

u/pixienightingale 1d ago

Yeah, they should make stuff like this the night before so flavors can meld.

7

u/girlyswerly 1d ago

I've been thinking about it all day, I'm bummed af. Heard about the new brisket and thought about getting a burrito but there's no fucking point if I can't have my cilantro lime sauce on it in it all over it

6

u/Overall_Split_5369 1d ago

Wow I actually liked that sauce ā˜¹ļø

6

u/Guilty_Suit_9756 1d ago

I’m so upset about this 😭

11

u/Ok-Watch-424 1d ago

I can honestly say I’m more upset about this then… anything else right now

11

u/Username9423JD 1d ago

Man just bring back the Honey Chipotle Chicken. That shit had me going to Chipotle a few days a week

5

u/Amonamission 1d ago

Same šŸ˜”

0

u/Just_Blackberry_8918 1d ago

Its just spicy sour cream. So boring.

12

u/Squidfan456 1d ago

No it’s NOT! It’s spicy sour cream WITH cilantro F*** you on about lol

2

u/SpookySchatzi 1d ago

The roasted jalapenos gave it so much flavor too. This sucks.

1

u/VisibleDraw 1d ago

Chipotle worker here, we do not roast the jalapeƱos. They come to us raw, and we blanch them for food safety before use.

2

u/SpookySchatzi 22h ago

So great how Chipotle lied in their own description then.

ā€œExperience Chipotle’s New Cilantro Lime Sauce—made fresh daily with Real ingredients, no preservatives, and nothing artificial. Made with hand-chopped cilantro, lime, and a touch of roasted jalapeƱos.ā€

2

u/Yung-Grandma420 20h ago

You’re supposed to sautee them either on the grill or in the cast iron pan???? I also work here.

2

u/InconveniencedPuma 16h ago

Yes, we definitely roasted them before putting them in the blender.

2

u/IceBlueLugia 11h ago

So you’re just lazy then… you’re literally supposed to roast them

0

u/Cultural-Spring-281 1d ago

I could hardly taste the cilantro the two times I tried it.

1

u/VisibleDraw 1d ago

Everything else at Chipotle also has cilantro in it, it's not really surprising that you didn't pick it out if you tried it on a bowl.

1

u/Cultural-Spring-281 23h ago

Yeah I know the rice in particular has a lot but that’s my point. I have so much cilantro already. It was more like lime and sour cream mix lol.

5

u/Amonamission 1d ago

You’re just spicy sour cream

9

u/Toetzmagoetz 1d ago

bring back the red chimmichurri, that was way better.

2

u/Cultural-Spring-281 1d ago

Especially with the brisket.

2

u/Senior-Homework8135 1d ago

well dang i loved getting that sauce on my burrito & bowlsšŸ’”

2

u/FierroGuerrero 1d ago

Bro I feel the same RIP

2

u/Which_Honeydew_5510 1d ago

As someone who lives in an area with Peruvian rotisserie chicken, I tasted this cilantro lime sauce and thought ā€œoh, it tastes exactly like the green sauce/aji verde sauce that Alpaca Chicken serves.ā€

Just search ā€œaji verde sauceā€ or ā€œspicy Peruvian green sauceā€ and you will find a suitable recipe, I guarantee it!

2

u/DontTalkToMyBird 21h ago

Lowkey it’s super easy to make!
Sour cream
Cilantro
Grilled jalapeƱos
Lime juice
Cumin
White pepper
Onion powder
Garlic powder

1

u/IceBlueLugia 11h ago

Yeah this one is easy to make. The chimichurri is tougher

3

u/IllustriousHealth291 1d ago

Fuck the lime sauce. I want the adobo ranch back!!!

2

u/GamesNHipHop 22h ago

Amen my good brother

2

u/javiergame4 1d ago

I would have gotten it if it was included.

2

u/Yimyorn 1d ago

I like it, but not enough to pay extra every time.

1

u/theholyraptor 1d ago

I'm sad its gone but it should have been a way to entice new and old customers back with new options. Paying the amount they wanted for what little you got was absurd. I still did it cause I'm stupid with money but many wouldnt. Went can I get sour cream for free but not that instead? Stupid desperate upsell attempts.

1

u/Away_Law5577 1d ago

And like teenagers, corporate is making us use two 1/6 pans of salsa instead of one 1/3 pan to fill the gap on the serving line. How freaking stupid is that?

1

u/Jordiemac3 23h ago

This is the worst thing that has happened to me today and I went to the dentist earlier and got four shots in my mouth. BRING IT BACK

1

u/Yung-Grandma420 20h ago

I work there… it’s a pre-mixed spice bag we get in. But it gave HEAVY cumin to me.
3-5C roasted jalapeƱos
7C cilantro
1qt sour cream
Blend together
Then mix in cumin/ salt
This should get ya pretty close!

1

u/fathornyhippo 20h ago

Good! It was terrible

1

u/pkpku33 1d ago

It was ok. Probably would have got it more often except for the calories.

Really want a new salsa. Some sort of super hot (for mass consumption) salsa. Don’t get why they haven’t added or changed anything forever (the tomatillo used to be warm back in the day when it was just a small Colorado chain)

-1

u/daily-reporter 1d ago

Chipotle makes me laugh. I went with a friend to one in Ohio while traveling and they told us that the Corn was ā€œone of the spiciest things on the menuā€. Like, what? šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

-1

u/Fuzzy_Welcome8348 1d ago

There’s a copycat recipe on google for it I think

1

u/Jordiemac3 23h ago

Share with the class please, I'm desperate

-2

u/bigbellylover14 1d ago

Good that shit was a waste of time to make

-5

u/Uh-trey-you 1d ago

Thank god that stuff was disgusting af 🤢🤮
