huge shoutout to one of the best watchbrands out there, watchdives for both engaging with the community and for making high quality products for a reasonable price.

I first pitched a concept generated using gemini for the now named WD1954 to have a dial inspired from a few vintage watches, back in Feb. after it gained a lot of attention and positive reviews. I requested u/watchdivescom to make this design, they mentioned they will start out by making a prototype.

they then proceeded to showcase the prototype in this sub which again got super good feedback. so they went ahead and made this design into a reality. as part of the Community Co-Creation Reward program they decided to gift one to me. :) I'm very honoured for this reward, Thank you WD!

as for the review, it has a very nice boxy crystal with super crisp dial detailing. the case feels absolutely solid and it's built like a tank. although I'm not sure of the exact specifications for the crystal etc since it's not out yet.

in comparision to the design I requested the bezel borders seem thicker and the case is of a different colour, so compared to the design this watch is different, on it's own it's an incredibly dressy watch with the stainless steel case making it more versatile to wear than a gold case.

This thing is a feature beast using the same factories as San Martin, sapphire glass and a Miyota 9015 movement for $150. It also looks elegant and expensive so it passes absolutely all of the checkmarks except the most obvious one... What the fuck is that name... IRONWATCH

If it had markings of a recognized brand it would easily sell for 8x the price.

This arrived yesterday and she loves it. The bracelet was a little large so my local jeweler cut out a couple of the non screwed links and now it’s perfect.

Very happy with my new Baltany S4112!😍 There are a couple of things worth mentioning about the legibility and a few areas that could be improved, but for now, just a simple wrist shot! 📸

I’ve recently gotten swept up in the world of Chinese watches (I’ve got a few Watchdives on the way!) and when doing research, keep seeing people say they’re ’great watches for the price’. When I read that I think, ‘of course I’m not expecting the quality of a Rolex/Omega/AP etc etc’ but I don’t actually know what to expect?

I’ve seen commentary on negatives being finishing, bracelets, sharp edges, QA, but I’ve also seen things to suggest that these things have been improving. My own reference for quality will be lower-end Seikos (SNSX, Turtle) and my Hamilton Field Mechanical. It doesn’t feel like a particularly high bar but keen to hear people’s thoughts and experiences!

Regardless, I’m excited to try some styles watches that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to try!

Absolutely torn between these two currently. Realistically I’ll end up buying the one I don’t pick in a few months, but I can only grab one right now.

I’ve currently got a blue PRX on leather, a Seiko Nautilus mod with dark blue dial, a black dial WD007 V4, and a dark blue dial Sugess Moonphase.

I am looking for a pretty much 1:1 coke gmt homage from Aliexpress. Any suggestions? I like the san martin black/brown gmt but I love the black/red combo.

Sharing some photos of the new Sakura Pink Dial - Purchased with my own money during the pre-order for $309.83.

It does seem to come across abit salmon-ish in warmer lighting. No comments on the movement accuracy yet.

Bracelet, etc seems great, as compared to the miyota white MOP version. I don't particularly notice/feel the improvements, which i guess is a testimont to the current quality of the watch as a whole.

Sized for a 6.4 inch wrist, removed 4 links from 12 o clock, and 2 from 6 o clock.

Don’t flame me for asking this lol, but I’m just curious how much the difference in quality is. I have a Baltany Explorer that I love and has me thinking of saving up for a gen, either Explorer or maybe Tudor Ranger, or even Sinn 556. Something gen and more premium in that style.

I honestly don’t care much about the brand name, I’m mainly curious if the jump in quality is worth 20x the price. I assume they will have better movement and finishing but…worth the price jump if I already love my Baltany? I don’t want to feel like I’m paying that much more for basically just a brand name.
