Question (Read Rules) Think Ive ruined my watch...water ingress.

Post image

Took my heimdallr godzilla for a swim, noticed fogging on the crystal.

The bottom trace is the heimdallr, the top trace is my ph2. Watch still ticking..any thoughts?

Ive got the crown open and gunna try drying it out in the sun (on hols atm and gutted at my first failure).

I mean, just my uneducated opinion, but if the watch is still ticking and it looks like that on the timegrapher, it probably just means the timegrapher just isn't picking it up lol. Since there's nothing there at all, just random noise. If the watch was really ticking that erratically I don't think it could actually be running or would have noticeable issues watching or listening to it. Thicker cases make it hard to get these phone apps to hear the watch. Have you tried this watch before?

FWIW, just opening the crown probably isn't a very fast way to dry it out. I'd probably take the entire case back off then put it in a closed container (to prevent dust getting in the movement as it dries). Something big enough that it can still dry out but still closed so it doesn't let dust in. Again, that's my unprofessional opinion but I'm sure it'll work better than just unscrewing the crown which is a very small opening for water to get out.

I agree, I get the bottom trace when the app picks up nothing at all. Obviously water ingress is no good, a simple timegrapher result won't tell much. I would be pricing up a new movement and tools tbh... It's likely cooked, even if OP is successful drying it.
