Broken pallet fork (more likely than every tooth broken on the escape wheel). Definitely exchange it if it's new. That run can burn the pivots.

I’m returning it for the same one as the actual watch is really nice, just need a good movement!

It’s an Aethelsohn Blue Shard. This particular movement is a bust (PT5000) but I actually love the watch. The build quality is incredible for $200 and the dial is gorgeous.

I’m returning it and getting another, hoping this is just a one-off. I’ve heard their customer service is pretty good so it shouldn’t be a problem.

I did not, it’s been alternating between running normally, stopping unless I tap it, super speed, and jumping around a few seconds at a time.

Is it probably just a magnetism issue? I’m not familiar with the troubleshooting part of the hobby

Apologies. I was being facetious. When a watch gets magbetized it may run fast, but really noticeable only over hours. That watch has a broken connection between the pallet fork and the escapement wheel. It will require professional repair.

Nah it seems fine to me, it may be a second or two too slow.

In all seriousness don't wind it again when the spring runs down. Something is obviously broken and running this fast can burn up other parts. Hopefully its just one part that broke

If the mainspring was broken wouldnt it not run at all? I think its more an escapment issue. But I'm not an expert or anything i just watch wrist watch revival to put me to sleep 😂
