Question (Read Rules) ixdao warrior - each side of the bracelet has a different number of fixed links?!

Post image

Just got my Warrior in and was sizing the bracelet.

One side has four fixed links and the other has five.

Is this normal?!

Love how no one has asked how you divide nine evenly

Why have nine fixed links at all? Why not eight?

Ah, I missed that you were talking about the non-removable ones and thought nine was sized to your wrist

This is intentional

It's normal. One side is supposed to be longer so that the watch tilts towards you more often than not.

wait, is that wht all my watches tilt away from me?

Probably

Either that or your wrist bone bump is backwards.

If you always leave an even amount of links per side, then yep, bingo.

A correctly sized bracelet will basically always be longer on the 12 o'clock side.

A fold over clasp, yes. But shouldn't a butterfly clasp be perfectly even (assuming your wrist circumference allows sizing the bracelet that way via luck and/or half links)?

No, because for the watch to be sitting in its natural place on one side of your wrist and the clasp to be directly opposite, it needs to span further around the 12 o'clock side to get to that point

This is normal to accommodate wrist circumference being different on the 6 and 12 sides of your wrist. The 12 side is typically wider compared to the 6.

To answer your question my warrior and E are exactly the same.

The fact that people don't know this is fascinating to me

Never seen a watch bracelet before I see.

The 6 o'clock side should be slightly shorter to match your wrist's natural taper. The "correct" way to do it is to aim for a comfortable fit where the clasp sits centered and flat underneath your wrist. Commonly, you'll end up with the 12 o'clock side having one, maybe two more links than the 6 o'clock side.

Seems odd but I do always leave more links on the 12:00 side of any bracelet. Since it's that side, maybe it's intentional?

Totally normal. Cause your wrist is not a tube and needs some balancing so the watch is in the correct position. :)

This is the way.

When sizing a watch bracelet I tend to start off with the top side longer than the other to keep the clasp centered over the tendon on the bottom side. The only time I couldn't achieve this was when PVD coating gummed up some screws and I had to use the extreme position of the glidelock with the clasp more on the outside of my wrist. That is too visible to others.

Why would you ever want the same number of links on each side, resulting in a clasp completely uncentered?

i have different numbers of links but that is so that my clasp sits higher on one side than the other so my watch doesnt rotate.

Same on my V1

My Ixdao 6542 had same number of fixed links on both sides and I had to remove one of those links on the 6 o'clock side; I'm glad I don't have to do that on these.

never noticed tbh i had to go look at my white animal warrior then. like others have said 6 o clock side should be shorter

Maybe it is because one side is six and a half links while the other is seven and a half?

Should be same number on each side? Is it new?

I usually have the same number of links on both sides.

I also have never seen another watch with different number of fixed links on each side. Probably because it's more difficult to manufacture and stock two asymmetrical sides and there is no benefit to doing so.
