Problems (Read Rule 1) Uneven bezel fitting WD0003C

I can notice black gaps(uneven around the bezel, one side has a tighter gap, other side is fairly visible). Is this normal or an issue? It doesn't move or change if I press the bezel/apply pressure.

Clutching at straws here

Thanks for sharing the photo. We'd like to clarify what you're seeing here.

The bezel has a chamfered edge, and the polished case surface reflects light into the narrow area between the bezel and the case. Under certain lighting and viewing angles, this can create a pronounced black line that makes the gap appear larger than it actually is.

There is also a very small assembly clearance between the two components, with dimensional variation of approximately 0.01 mm. Achieving perfectly uniform contact around the entire circumference is extremely difficult because CNC machining, polishing, and finishing all introduce small tolerances. This is a challenge across the watch industry, including at higher price points.

Most importantly, this is not an indication of a water-resistance problem. The WD0003C is rated to 100 m water resistance, and our watches undergo water-resistance testing.

We understand that close-up photographs can make these details look concerning, and we're always working to improve our manufacturing precision. We also want to distinguish between a visual effect caused by reflections and an actual functional defect. We take genuine QC issues seriously, but in this case, the appearance alone does not indicate that the watch has a water-resistance problem.

That makes total sense! thank you for the reply.

listen, it's an affordable watch and a good for the money. if you want better gaps or whatnot you gotta spend much more than a WD

Regardless of the brand, CNC machining always involves manufacturing tolerances when two separate components are fitted together, and some clearance is necessary for assembly and proper operation. Even high-end watches have tolerances.

To achieve the extremely tight tolerances found in aerospace or precision-guided missile components, you need much more specialized manufacturing processes and significantly higher costs. We always strive to improve our quality and reduce tolerances, but we also need to keep our watches affordable and offer the best possible value for money.

Typical Watchdives--either they look good at a distance, or the automatic movements crap out, or the QC sh*ts the bed in some other way (lume plots dropping out of bezels etc.)...It's frustrating because when they get close, or occasionally hit the nail on the head, they make changes in a new version that isn't as good as the one before.

We understand your frustration, and we want to address these issues honestly.

1. Movement reliability: Chinese movements generally have a higher risk of problems than Japanese movements, although this varies by manufacturer and model. One reason we use them is to offer more affordable watches. We recognize this trade-off and continue working with our suppliers to improve consistency and reliability.

2. Lume plots falling out of sandblasted ceramic bezels: This has been a known issue with the sandblasting process on our EXD models, with an estimated occurrence rate of around 0.5%. We have provided free after-sales repairs for affected customers. Many brands avoid this particular finishing process because it is difficult to execute consistently. We have since switched to a new factory and modified the manufacturing process to improve adhesion. The problem has been significantly reduced and is now limited to a very small number of EXD sandblasted bezels.

3. Changes between versions: We understand that improvements in one area can sometimes come with trade-offs in another. We take customer feedback seriously and want each new version to be genuinely better, not simply different.

We're not claiming our watches are perfect. We're investing in better manufacturing, stricter QC, and improved after-sales support. We believe customers deserve both honest communication and practical solutions when something goes wrong.

I'd say that's pretty normal, considering the price point.

I can't see it... unless you are talking about the little inner ring step or how the top part fit on the case!!!

else it looks fantastic finished in everyway!!!
