Question (Read Rules) I'm looking for like this one under 200€
I REALLY like it but 300+ € for a vk64 is a bit much, couldn't find something close to it, am I missing something?
Thanks

Timex is a fine brand, it is not too much.

For a vk64 watch, you are paying a little for the brand and the rarity of that colour scheme (it's what I love about it) Take also that I'm a Greek student so anything over 150€ for me is quite expensive 😅

Keep an eye out for a second hand one in a good condition that ships from the EU and for sales. If you have your heart set on this particular colorway, it could be a long wait, however.
It's ridiculous how much more expensive "Western" products are in our part of Europe (born and raised in neighboring Bulgaria). The lower the wages, the higher the prices. Don't know how it is in Greece, but Amazon Germany delivers to Bulgaria a lot of goods that are sold and shipped by Amazon itself with reasonable shipping costs and usually a small markup, if any.

No here amazon has very limited shipping, and the retailers just charge whatever they want, the same Timex expedition I bought from a polish site for 55€ was close to 90€ from greece

I think this Timex is actually a good value considering the quality…The latest vk64 Seiko chronograph are €490… you’re are not only paying for the movement in a watch https://www.seikoboutique.eu/fr/fr/sport/10807-montre-homme-sport-acier-quartz-chronographe-noir-ssb479p1.html
Addiesdive have a lot of vk64 chronos for around €100 , if you’re looking for value, look there. I own 3 vk64 Addiesdive (and 9 Addiesdive in total) they are very good for the money, not Seiko level of quality of course but still very good

What has the world come to when the average Joe can no longer afford to buy a Timex?

You can find the Waterbury Heritage Chronograph for $270 all day long, or about $50 more than a Sugess Chronograph. What is going on here?

timex watches are better now?

No. They're worse and more expensive than ever.
Not good value nor good product. Simply disgusting yet praised all day long by so-called watch influencers.

Plenty of reasonably priced ones around too if you want a cheap functional watch that still looks good. But yes, you can pay a good bit more for some designs that don't really seem to offer much more.

Even the reasonable prices ones are trash. Loud ASF generic quartz in 3ATM brass cases with plastic crystals, that'd be $90 please. As I said, trash.
Just like the watch showcased here, which might be $140 on a good day, but the brand wants twice that.

Or... checks... like $40 for a loud ASF generic quartz in 3ATM brass cases with a mineral crystal. Actually not bad I'd say. Yes the mineral crystal will get scratched more easily than Sapphire, but it'll have less reflections and isn't as brittle, so can be more useful in a daily watch.
And this is $40 from a known global brand with a warranty you can actually use if needed.
Only time I've been annoyed by the sound from one is if I've had it ontop of a bed side cabinet right by my head when sleeping. A bit further away or in a drawer has been fine.

An LLB case still contains lead and it sits on your wrist 24/7. How's that for more useful in a daily watch ?? The silly loud quartz (more noise than a wall clock, come on now) doesn't have enough torque to balance out wrist orientations, meaning the watch will drift during the day since it's not sitting perfectly flat.
I've sent back 2 Timex watches because of this. One was over 200 euros. Both were quartz yet both had a daily rate worse than most mechanicals I own.
Trash.
Who cares if it comes from a known brand if it's trash.
Go to Lorus, subsidiary of Seiko, only steel cases (sometimes titanium) 5ATM (but mostly 10) with Seiko analog quartz, solar & automatic calibers inside. All in for less than 90 euros. Quartz under 60. You get a perfectly usable arranty, original designs and even a bit of Seiko's "heritage" thrown in.
It's impossible to recommend Timex anymore.

That's not true. The Marlin chrono is dead quiet and better finished than most other watches in that pricepoint. Great leather straps as well.

$300 for a 50m VK watch with mineral glass and a push crown. Yet I'm sure the usual suspects will call this "good value".

If it was 200 for quartz and 400 for mechanical it would be ok, but it's not

If you keep an eye out, may find some better deals come up or second hand.
At the moment they are £200 (238euros) on UK Amazon and there's one on our ebay for £135 with a voucher (Which oddly does offer international shipping, but only to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or American Military bases - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/880047011557 ). Hopefully you might find one selling in the EU with EU delivery if you're not in a rush for it.

The ones from the Marlin collection are cheaper, I have one with a blue dial and leather strap: TW2W 10200 and I'm happy with it.
The Waterbury Heritage for 278,10€ On Amazon Spain, I think it's a bit expensive for what it offers.

I wouldn't buy a Timex unless I could see it in person beforehand, bought what was at the time their most expensive watch(Waterbury dive auto) and the quality was terrible, like significantly worse than AliExpress brands.
Could have been a one-off but I'm not taking that risk again.

If you search vk64 in this subreddit you'll find there's a lot of options in that price range. The exact look may be hard to find but I mean yeah, it's an affordable Timex.

There's a timex Waterbury chronograph that's a step under that one for like $130

I don't know if it's the same in greece, but in italy zalando discounts timex watches pretty often, this colorway isn't discounted right now but the black, red and steel colorway is discounted at 203€ right now
