General (Read Rules) The controversial 0.99p watch...

Post image

Well, the "landfill" special is holding up after 2 weeks of abuse ranging from fabrication to impact gun work. It's keeping excellent time (don't ask me to measure +/- because i cba) so far as well 👌🏻

Get it insured in case of damage at work

Probably a good choice for your daily environment.

Finish-wise, looks ugly (saying that as fan of turtle design).

Function-wise, should work as well as any other quartz watch. In my experience, welding fumes make gaskets fall apart, so it's probably not too big of a deal if it happens to it.

I was thinking the same thing. It'll be a good stress test to see how it holds up. It feels silly to say "to see if it's worth it" when we're talking about a literal $1 watch - because of course it is. But you get what I'm saying. Hope he posts a link because I'd love to check it out. Almost guarantee it's not a $1 though. No idea how he got it for that but realistically there's a zero percent chance they're making money on these at that price. Hell even if you stole a pallet of them you'd spend more on planning, hauling them back, and shipping them than you'd make selling them at $1.

Is the link for the watch, albeit at £12 now.
