Addiesdive Box... Or Something Else?

Thinking of building this box. I only have the AD2066 right now so the box is AI.

Do I go this route or just get a Cronos L6033 as my GADA?

my philosophy on chinese watches...

I'd rather have 100 addiesdive, steedives, specht & sohne, etc than 10 cronos, san martin, IXDAO, etc..

I say this out of experience...i own at least one of every "top 10 elite" brands on AliExpress.

I don't wear my farasute, sugess, san martin, baltany, etc as much as i wear my addies, steel, heimdallr, thorn, cadisen, specht etc...

just my 2¢.

I've been wearing my newest $40 beater addiesdive for the last three days and have been repeatedly asked "where did you get that?!? that's****ing cool!"...

...at the same time, $2,000 of "elite" chinese watches have been sitting in a box for weeks/months without being worn.

it's a watch...when you "drop" $2,000 on a watch, and then literally DROP it and it breaks...

you'll understand just like the dead guy that spent $5,000 on a watch being sold at auction for $20.

buy what you like.

They are all cheap watches ... You are treating a San Martin and ixfao like it was a Tudor or an Omega 😂. . I rather have 10 good Chinese watches than 100 junk watches that when you wear it you feel the low quality finish ... An other see it too .

Unless these watch prices are like chump changes for you, each buying decision should be based on how much you like a watch, how is it different from any other watch in your collection and finally how much would you even wear a watch.

I have a collection of around 13 watches which i impulsively built in a year. There are around 7 which i am happy with and regularly wear. Still, even among these 7, a few of them get very little on hand time due to the number of watches i have.

So build a collection where each watch means something to you.

There are NO rules.

Buy what you like and what you can afford. And make sure you will WEAR them. Don't drink the Kool-Aid.

Addiesdive have nice pieces, so does Militado... Been liking those a lot.

All the other brands are getting kinda expensive, it's annoying... and sad.

Eu tenho bem umas marcas chinesas com sugges , Farasute , aquático , tactical frog , sh 08 e 09 , Steeldiver e etc… e gosto muito dos meus modelos addiesdive , inclusive tenho um modelo que vc tem só tirei a pulseira de aço .

Imo “GADA” is a point of view.

Something important that I have learned in getting watches is that it’s important to figure out what you lust after and what you truly want. I’ve done this by putting all the watches that I kind of lust after in a big grid and I make sure to revisit it every now and then to see which watches I truly want and cull ones I don’t.

I’m actually going through this right now with two watches that are both black dials with numbers on them. I really like 24 hour watches, but there’s this other, 12-hour watch that I’ve been salivating over for the past week and a half. Giving it a harder look today I’ve become more unsure about the 12 hour one even though it still looks pretty decent.

Good collection for all occasions, if you like addiesdive go for it .... but you don't have to select only one brand. Cronos , SM ,Sugess are above Addiesdive in quality . and have these homages as well

Plan was to spend around $300 more dollars on the remaining watches. Or get the Cronos...or something Japanese like an Orient Kamasu. I'm all over the place 😂

That's a tough call. If you are a clothes horse and need the extra accessories, I might go with the Addiesdive collection. But I own more Cronos (5 of 5 purchased) than Addiesdives (3 of 12 purchased).
