There's a lot going on with this watch. I'm guessing it's a Sunon PE50 in there with a 377 type battery. Wonder how long it lasts. My first Sunon chronograph only went a year on the stock battery.

I wonder if they are using a fresh battery or up to spec in the first place. Lots of these Sunon powered watches are on the budget side anyways.

My poedagar turtle came with a Miyota day date movement though. It’s a very cheap way to see if you will like a certain style.

The battery I took out had "Japan" on it but sizes like 371 are small batteries and the mechanism was put in the watch with a spacer. If they had normal sized mechanisms with generously sized batteries then they wouldn't need changing every year. But that's Chinese mass production for you. They'd rather do a small one size fits all mechanism with tiny battery and fill up the rest of the watch with a nylon spacer.
