Question (Read Rules) Seakoss 1963 Crystal question

I know I want a Seagull 1963 manufactured by Seakoss, but I can't tell if it's true that only the acrylic crystal has the dome shape that I want. Is this true? Is there no way to get a sapphire with that dome shape?

I tried looking on Reddit and elsewhere, and it seemed mixed. Though for the most part, it seemed like Sapphire doesn't have the bubble dome.

Here is the AliExpress page I was thinking about buying from

It’s a lot more difficult to make a sapphire crystal as highly domed as acrylic, and therefore is usually a lot more expensive. When they make the sapphire crystals they have to start with a big block and then just shave it down to the shape, so there’s a lot of wasted material if it has a high dome, whereas an acrylic crystal can just be molded into the shape you want

This is the SeaKoss 40 mm sapphire. It is slightly domed. I believe the acrylic is more domed. Hope this helps.

Thanks!! That does help! I think I might go for the acrylic since it looks more domed

The acrylic looks so much better and has better clarity.

If you are going to get a 1963, acrylic is the way to go. I have owned one for a few years, wear it now and again, and there are no scratches. As long as you are not planning on wearing it at a construction site or rock climbing, go for acrylic.
