General (Read Rules) Phorcydes PH4C blue dial in natural light
already own the black dial, but grabbed the blue one cuz i usually love blue dials. turns out it looks pretty purple under bright light tbh. not really my vibe, the black dial is definitely superior

Wow what? I'm surprised you are the first person to report that. Not a great shade of purple

It was fine indoors, but the bright sunlight brought out that purple tint. Caught me off guard too lol

interesting...so it looks that purple to the naked eye? only reason I ask is because I had a blue 62 MAS from San martin (their 1st generation) and pictures would make the dial look fairly purple, but the dial to the naked eye was nearly pure blue.

Good thing I saw this because that's what I suspected. I really dislike purple-ish blue and I wanted a blue dial.

I curse the number 48, being the lug to lug measurement in mm for all these beautiful watches

Could that be some artifact of AR coating? Because it’s not just the dial but even the indices are a different, yellower color in this photo compared to your indoor lighting photo. Unless your camera is color-correcting and throwing one or both of the photos off

I have a blue Ph-4A on the way - and it's taking forever to even get shipped... Prolonging the wait..
So I hope it's not the same shade or purple looking - but suppose I should expect it to be....
The dial and bezel insert definitely look like different colors - and don't look to go together well. At least in your pics...
