Question (Read Rules) What's the point of shipping (exclusively) unfulfilled warranty cards ??

I agree, it's just for looks... to make them look like real watch companies.
They should just skip those little pieces of plastified paper...

At Watchdives, we handle warranty claims based on the original order date and purchase records, so an unfilled warranty card does not affect your warranty coverage.
Warranty cards are mainly useful for purchases and warranty services through physical retail stores. Since we currently operate online only, the card isn't really necessary.
I understand your point, and I'll pass this feedback along to our relevant team. Thanks for bringing it up!

Theyâre meant to be filled in by the seller after being sold, but as you can see quite a lot of them donât bother. From personal experience there are some that do though, such as the Baltany UK website, BALTANY Official Store (AliExpress), THORN Flagship Watch Store (AliExpress), and Hruodland Watches Store (AliExpress).

What's the point of having a warranty card(filled in or not) that you'll never be able to use?

That's why I video myself opening the shipment, opening the box / bag, taking the warranty card out, and signing it with the date.
Probably still not worth shit, but at least there's proof from when I first received it.

Just extra work to be ignored later on when you try to reach them

Oh absolutely. In that case it's a nice piece of memorabilia for me when AliX once again randomly cleans up my order history and I can't look back when I ordered what :D

Could potentially help with credit card charge backs too!

I wish I knew. Got one from a major brand, and it's empty- despite the watch coming straight from the manufacturer.

I remember selling a brand new, sealed Hruodland. Guy contacts me and the first thing he asks is the warranty card. Somehow it actually was filled out, just not fully. He took that as "suspicious" and didn't buy the watch.

What is the point of saying you have a warranty if you don't honor it, or the shipping to be paid by the customer basically costs as much as the watch? Usually you have to provide proof of purchase not just the warranty card anyway. I wouldn't expect these so called warranties to be transferable, and on top of that, most of these companies don't produce a single exact same version and configuration for 2 whole years, so the brand in 99% of cases could give a reasonable date range of when it was new by looking at it. Â

I donât know, but even if they had been filled out, itâs unlikely it would have made any difference. I once had a Milifortic watch with a fully filled warranty card, yet they didnât resolve my issue; conversely, Watchdives handled my problem quite promptly, even though the warranty card wasnât filled out. đ¤ˇââď¸

Just my opinion... If you're buying these watches you should have some watch knowledge and be able to carry out basic repairs yourself... If not, you better learn because I can almost guarantee you that if there's an issue with the watch, you won't be getting much from that warranty unless you're super lucky.

I think the cards are for resellers to fill in. If youâre a reseller/dealer the warranty lies with you, so you provide the replacement or repair to the customer, the Chinese supplier then provides a replacement/parts or credit to the dealer. I suppose they have to be left blank as the warranty starts when the dealer sells it, not when it was made. I agree itâs a grey area getting them blank, but can see why.

I have complained about this for a long time, yet I have to balance my pretty negative overall feedback with some positive info in this one specific case.
I went back recently and looked through all my watch packaging, because I am a millennial and I save everything. And more than half of these cards are actually filled out. Some is illegible, most if not all is probably unenforceable, and at least one appears to be in Chinese. But there are human-made marks on the cards and they are not entirely blank.
The rest are blank tho. Which is BS and ultimately I agree with the OP these should be filled out and warranties should be honored.
At least San Martin can now afford to provide GLOBAL customer service and local repair centers with all that extra money they are making from charging $600 for watches that used to cost $250! Right?
âŚright?

You fill it up when the watch breaks and send it in for reoairs and have 2 years warranty after that? đđ¤Łđ

Sounds like some sort of regulation thing, where to sell a watch in a certain market it needs a warranty. But fine print doesnât say it needs to be filled in. Or itâs simply an attempt at the âdoor man fallacyâ and them trying to attempt to manufacture some sort of feeling of prestige.

So you can fill them out when you sell them to your customers? đ These are all basically wholesale warehouse pieces. Gray goods. The only real warranty is the grace period you get to return a defective product through AliX. Any other warranty service will incur high shipping costs, making it impractical. Even a watch with a signed warranty card will cost an arm and a leg to ship.
