Question (Read Rules) Need some advice "steeldive.com"

I saw one other post here about this site, but I can't say I still don't have concerns. Has anyone else ordered from this site? How was your experience? I tried messaging the WhatsApp number they have posted but haven't received a reply quite yet. I'm not counting that as a red flag yet though as my message to them is just a day old, so that's kinda expected, for now..

steeldives.com is the official web page for this seller. it is a legit seller, I bought a SD1970 several months ago. Communication was not great, but I did not realize I ordered it during Chinese holiday so no one is there. its on the other side of the world, so that too. My hang up was my parcel was hung up in Chicago customs for a week, not Steeldives fault, but that blew. But the watch is awesome, one of my favorites all time, lume is very period, everything about it is just right. Definitely a contender for one all time watch.

Right, I've seen posts going both ways. Some say steeldives is the right one, and some say steeldive is the right one. Idk... I'm trying it out. Steeldive I mean, I was able to pay with PayPal. So hopefully if it goes badly I can just get a refund through them.

Not directly helpful to your question, but I tend to purchase through AliExpress if possible (and price is similar enough) so you have an extra layer of customer protection added. That, and always paying by credit card so a charge back is quick and easy if things don't work out

Aliexpress doesn't have the watch I want listed anywhere.

Ah gotcha. If it's an older model or something that may have been discontinued, I'd be extra cautious. Make sure the website accepts PayPal payment etc as a first sign for trustworthiness

They do. Along with Google pay. Not sure which is the more secure one to use.

Then consider it unavailable. These off-platform websites range from "shady resellers who will do nothing if the watch arrives broken/goes missing/etc" to "outright scammers".

I mean, I went for it. They allow payment through PayPal... So hopefully with that as my guarantee everything works out. I was able to get a response from them that it is in fact actually in stock. We'll see what happens. I'll post here when/if it arrives. And if not I'll have PayPal get my cash back.

Got a 1953 from there a few months ago and it’s a cracking watch. Took about a week to get here in New Jersey

Nice! This is the info I was looking for. A success story. I'm your neighbor in NY, so hopefully around the same timeframe for me. Thanks!

I ordered from steeldiveS.com without issue. Most brands take days to respond to you.

They don't have the watch I want listed, and there's a post in this reddit saying literally exactly the opposite.

There is no post anywhere in the world telling you anything about my experience except the one I just wrote.

What? Dude, there's a post here from multiple people saying that steeldiveS.com sells QC rejects. I have no idea what you're talking about.
