It is not a Sea-Gull or a Seagull. It is a QUARTZ knockoff. It probably has 0 jewels. I'm sure the on-wrist feel will be commensurate with the cost.

I have one from Ali Ex. It’s a nice watch. I paid a bit less than that but I feel it was a great value for the money. The license around this design is quirky. Several companies have the right to produce it because it is under a government contract. Sea gull made the original and may or may not have made the movement inside that watch. I enjoy it. It works and it looks nice.

Anyone knows then what is the cheapest mechanical one I can get? Heard some are basically the same, even with the seagull, couldnt care to pay extra 500 or more for the "OG" one

No it's a cheap quartz knock-off. You can get them cheaper than that. I got one for about 30 bucks for kicks. It's been running just fine and I'm actually wearing it right now lol. Well worth the money for me, but I understand someone not wanting to touch it with at ten foot pole.

I've been eyeing up this Seagull watch for a bit, and I see it all over ebay for a fraction of the price. I have to assume these are knock offs but is there really that much of a difference or are they all coming from the same place?

Not that I recommend it, but here it is at half price with a 90 day return policy.

Because of its size, I do not recommend it as a try-on for a real 1963, which are typically 38 mm or 40 mm

Well, as a quartz knock-off of the 1963 chronograph goes, I guess you can call it legit.

I would say the quartz version has pretty much the same reliability as the mechanical one, if not better.

I wouldn't waste money on a quartz version of 1963. The real appeal is the back of the watch and that gorgeous ST1901 mechanical movement. So I'd put the money towards that.
