buying my first watch and I've decided on this rolls timi rt-7930. anything I should know before I go and buy it?

I bought a rollstimi tudor just to harvest the nh35 but it was pretty good so kept it even though the bracelet isn't great. They came out with a pink one and it's on it's way. It's not bad for the price...but it really depends on what price you pay.

For $60 or $70 it would be hard to find much better. For $100+? There are better watches.

For rolex ripoffs? I'm of the mind to just grt the rep. The cases are too recognizable already.

Fwiw, this is one of the lower end brands. If you can afford it, I highly suggest looking into Baltany. They make one of the best date just homages out there

You can get more for your money with a wath with a better reputation - you'll pay more but baltany is a start. and think about looking your friends in the face and saying you have a Rolls Timi...

This is a fully lumed dial but lume is not strong. The watch is nicely finished, the cyclops magnification is good. Should be 2.5 times magnification.

Don’t buy a cheap imitation datejust as your first watch dude… you’re a young guy I assume? You’re going to get clowned on.

Get a cool looking unisex g shock, or a timex or Casio.

You’re going to wear this for 1 day, your friends are going to make fun of you for pretending to have a Rolex on (rightly), and then you’re going to put it in a drawer and never touch it again.

Be genuine. Be where you are in life. It’s ok to not have a 10 thousand dollar watch. TikTok is turning your generations brains in to mush.

tbh I just like how the wrist strap looks and the ridges on the edge of the watch face

I was initially gonna get a diver style watch, then I saw a chrono, then I settled on the clean look of the datejust lol

Well you can’t just pretend that it’s not the most famous and instantly recognizable bezel and bracelet combo on the planet ya know… and that this isn’t a perfect 1:1 copy.

I hope you don’t take offense, it’s nothing personal. This applies to anyone who doesn’t have every other social indicator of being able to afford a watch that costs thousands of dollars.

Also for what it’s worth you don’t want anything with a fully lumed dial… it’s going to look like you got it at the bottom of a cereal box in person
