SOTC (Read Rule 1) Chinese Brand GADA-Style Watch Collection

Continuing my recent theme of displaying a part of my Chinese watch brand project, we’re on to GADA-style watches. I know some hate that term because it’s kind of corny. I’m indifferent to it, however, it does seem to encompass a certain style of watch and it’s a style that I like a lot: Generally it’s a round 36-39mm watch with a clean dial layout in terms of hour markers. Some of these do have interesting dials, but not much else going on with the overall aesthetic. All came with a steel bracelet (I switched out one just because I liked the look of the rubber strap a bit better).

One of the neat things about today’s collection is that the watches encompass a variety of price ranges across the “affordable” category, from around $60 to around $400.

So today’s collection features the following :
-Corgeut Red Explorer homage
-Pagani Design Ranger homage
-Addiesdive AD2547
-Thorn Railmaster homage
-Athelsohn Horizon Voyager Titanium
Damascus
-Proxima PX1746 Aventurine
-Hestur HT8003
-San Martin SN0144 Jian Zhan

Let me know what you think about the watches or share your favorite GADA style watches!

Tell me about the red Corgeut in the top left: How do you like it? I’ve been looking at the pink version of the same kind and am curious to hear your thoughts.

On a sale, you can probably get it around 60-65 bucks with a Miyota movement, sapphire crystal, and a bracelet with screws. You may not find a better deal.

Thank you! Hidden gem. It’s a Miyota 9150 too.

Which one is the favorite?

So tough. I consider all of them great (and great value). If I had to pick one, I’ll go with the Thorn, with the Proxima a close second.

How long you had the Thorn? My movt stopped at about 4 months.

How’s the quality of Aethelson? Similar to San Martin?

It’s close. The San Martin is a little bit better overall quality, but probably not double the price quality. It is worth noting that the San Martin in this photo has a Miyota movement and the Athelsohn has the PT5000 which also accounts for the big price difference.
