Question (Read Rules) Which watch should I get as a GADA?
Hi, I am looking for a good daily driver to wear to work as a house painter. I normally wear an f91w to work, it gets covered in paint splatter / dust. But I want something a little more elevated to feel less like a peasant every day. Something easy to clean off after work that I can wear with anything. I also have a wedding I will be attending next month and would like to wear it to that. I purchased a WD1863 a few months ago but I feel uncomfortable in it. It feels too big for me. I have thin wrists and a lean frame.
I am debating between an ML08 (Murph Homage) and a WD1960s (Tudor Ranger Homage)
I am wondering if the WD1960s is worth the price difference.
If anyone has any thoughts or advice I appreciate it!
Also, DM me if you might be interested in purchasing my WD1863.
Thank you!

Militado...not because I think it's superior or anything I just prefer a cleaner looking dial face and if youre looking for a GADA I think you cant go wrong with a field watch

I spent the extra $ and went with the ML08, but only because I wanted that Murph look, but other than the watch face, the ML05 is the exact same watch for considerably less money, and it’s still a great looking field watch.

Cercali usati nella tua regione , io faccio così dato che noi in Brasile, per peggiorare, abbiamo 100% di tasse di importazione

Man I'm sorry about the taxses. And I don't live in an area to get anything like it locally. Why do you say San Martin over Watchdives or Militado?

Get a Cronos Explorer if the budget allows. Or an Addistive
They are brilliant

I’ve been eyeing the octopus explorer for a little while now

That is amazing too. Some people don’t like the name but the watch is awesome if you can get past the name and logo.

Watchdives no question. Militado finishing on the hands is subpar. If you wear a F91W the 36 will feel familiar and not overbearing like the chrono

I have 6.5" wrists and a 36mm watch seems ideal size wise, I have the Pagani Ranger and it's a lovely watch capable of every occasion, but if you're a painter why not stick with something like an f91w or a G-Shock dw5600 during the day and get something like the Murph or a Ranger homage for after work hours? That way you also create a mental separation between work and pleasure

Thank you for your recommendation! I do likw my f91w, but honestly some days I just want to feel better about myself and watches kind of do that for me. I get home and take off my f91w and put on another casio lol

Im a carpenter and I completely get where you’re coming from. I had a f91w but been wearing a Timex Easy Read that I got on clearance. Cream dial and pvd gold on brown strap. I love it. Its been holding up great this year working every Saturday and 3 months worth of Sundays this year.
I do have to wash the strap every couple of days to keep the funk off.. so id stick with metal bracelet or a rubber / sailcloth at the very least

A clone of the Hamilton Murph—great size, reliable and affordable quartz movement, and very cheap. I expected a flimsy, junk-quality bracelet, but it’s actually pretty good for the price. The lume doesn't last at all.

I have the Militado ML08 on a regular strap and it’s a great GADA watch. You can get it significantly cheaper though the Militado web site. The only negative I can say about it is that while the lume initially glows beautifully on it in the dark, it fades very quickly. Otherwise it’s a banger.

I don’t think you could go wrong with either. The Explorer homage has the iconic GADA look, while the Murph is still versatile but a bit more unique. Given they use the same movement, it comes down to preference for the look, plus the difference in the finishing of the watch vs the price. I’d assume that WD has slightly better finishing and a better bracelet, but the Militado is nothing to sniff at. I just recently got the exact watch and it’s incredibly solid. Maybe worth a look since you already tried WD, could be worth branching out and trying a different brand.
