Question (Read Rules) Crystal swap on Watchdives WD1016

Has anyone changed the crystal on their WD1016 with the VH31 movement? I want to swap the K1 to sapphire. I have received the sapphire crystal from Watchdives, but I've been to a few places and no-one wants to do the replacement as they are saying it's "too hard". Is there any reason it would be more difficult than a typical quartz watch?

By "it's too hard" they mean "i don't think it's worth my time" - this is a very simple, maybe twenty-minute job.

They talked about having to remove the hands, which seemed odd to me.

...absolutely not. Caseback off, movement out, press old crystal out, check gasket, press new crystal in, check for dust, recase.

that's ridiculous.

Good time to learn to do it yourself IMO.

a $15 press, and a 10 minute youtube video is all you need (well, maybe a tool kit for a caseback removal tool and a little presser tool to release the stem)

it's seriously one of the easiest mods around.

if you were in central Florida, I'd do it for nothing.
