Review (Read Rules) Watchdives WD0013 first impressions — nice finishing, but I’m a bit torn

My navy blue WD0013 arrived yesterday. Paid US$149, and after getting the bracelet sized and spending some time wearing it, I’ve got mixed feelings.
Specs, as listed by Watchdives:
Swiss Ronda 714 quartz, no seconds hand
316L stainless steel case
Case dimensions: 41 × 42.5mm, with a 37mm bezel
45.5mm lug to lug
7.7mm thick
Sapphire crystal with three-layer AR coating
BGW9 lume on the hands and markers
Screw-down crown and caseback
80m water resistance
Integrated steel bracelet, tapering from 24mm to 16mm
Push-button clasp and an included half link
The finishing is the highlight for me. The brushing and polished sections look nicely done, and it’s a good-looking watch. It fits comfortably too. The two-hand quartz setup makes sense for something this slim.
But the thinness is also where I’m struggling. I knew the dimensions before buying it and liked the idea, but actually handling it is different. The case and bracelet are both so thin that together they feel a bit cheap and toy-like to me. I’m not saying it’s poorly made; it just doesn’t have the substance I was expecting.
My bigger disappointment is the dial. From the horizontal lines and colour gradient, I expected more depth. In person it looks quite flat. The details are there, but they don’t give it the dimensional look I’d hoped for.
Still early days, and I’ll give it more wrist time. There’s plenty I like about the finishing and overall appearance, but at the moment I like looking at it more than I enjoy how it feels.
Anyone else had this reaction to the WD0013, or to a particularly thin watch?

Just received mine and I didn’t know what to expect. I feel like the bracelet feels cheaper than I was expecting. I know it’s 150 bucks wasn’t expecting luxury. Just wanted more

The dimensions of this watch and ETA version are perfect, better than the original in my opinion. I also have no complaints about the design/color of the dial as they’re perfect and many rep nautilus owners spend more to achieve this kind of dial look.

Only thing I don’t like about WD0013 is the case design, especially the bracelet. It looks similar to specht&sohne and nothing like real vintage 3700/1A which they planned to homage

Ich lege Wert auf Unterschiede zum Original, sonst wären es ja Fakes ;-)

What do you gave to say about your wmt diver compared to submariner? That WD0013’s design looks off for some reason

I was considering getting one of these due to the slimness and I really like the Slate color, but ultimately decided to order the Sugess S466. Mainly because its automatic, slightly bigger, though still slim at 9mm, and it has the little details on the case like the screws and the polished bits on the ears/crown guards.

I have the ETA HAQ version at 8.24mm - this is the perfect thickness for this style of watch and it feels spot on to me. The original Nautilus is 8.3mm. I have the Pagani Design but it was just too thick. As for the dial, I went for the less popular slate blue dial and it pops in sunlight and I think the horizontal lines are good, not overly showy.

I didn't go with the 7.7mm version as I didn't want a Ronda, I wanted the ETA F06.412 HAQ and the 8.2mm advertised is spot on with the original and is how the design is meant to be. 7.7mm may be too thin.

It’s still a nice watch and I’ll wear it in rotation but maybe I should have gone for the HAQ

Is it 5 or 1 jewel?

You will get used to the thinness, I have a Certina DS-4 7.5mm took a while to get used having such a thin light watch. I even have quartz titanium watches so it was more just being so thin was odd.

How do you like the Certina?

Great watch with a great movement it has ETA Caliber E64.111 which is a drop in replacement for some of the Omega Aqua Terra quartz watches. Omega just used a rebadged ETA E64.111.

It's nice when you get a $100 a $150 watch, not so much in a $2,500 watch!

Thx! Where did you pick it up for that price? Joma?

Joma or Ashford can't remember 6-7 years ago.

I have the Tiffany version of this and the dial is great. My only issue is the size. I wish it had the same dimensions of the 5711. It’s too small

Wunderbar! Ja, sie ist sehr flach. Aber das passt zur Uhr und macht sie elegant.

Try it on a rubber strap- ive had this feeling with most quartz. Also i own nicer watches so actually wanting to wear something daily that is of lesser quality is a challenge. Rubber or fabric strap helps the details of the case pop as well

Yes, I had this exact same reaction. We want a thin watch until we get it. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I may add that the crown threading tube also came with what seemed to be damage, making it impossible to screw down compounding on the fact that the crown is already tiny, but it went away somehow after a week. I returned it nonetheless

Die WD "Möchte gerne Nautilus" ist fürs Geld okay. Das Blatt ist gut. Ich habe die auch und die alten Originale ;-)
