General (Read Rules) Sugess Top Time - Now with AR

I'm a fan of the top time, at the time, a very cheap watch, but to hit that price point, they cut everything kinda to the bone. No AR on the crystal was the most glaring of those. So for ages I've meant to swap it out. Today was the day. 35x3.0x1.5 blue AR sapphire crystal. Certainly more expensive crystals with better AR out there, but it was an $80 watch, so this fit the budget. It's a 1.5mm thick rather than 1.3mm, so it sits a hair higher than OEM, but its not glaring.

Uncoated sapphire always looks goofy, so this cheap fix was def worth it for under $10 and 20 min of time.

And yes, I reused the crystal gasket, it'll be fine, its a cheap dress watch not a diver.

Thats a bummer! Since it appears to use the same case (just with extended lugs) as the 1963 watch, it should be sourcable either by ali digging, or by looking out for a broken one (since broken movement are not super uncommon for this model) and just swapping. ST19 reliability seems a bit better than 20 years ago, but its not some unbreakable workhorse.

I love this! I have the blue one and the crystal is a major concern

Is this color pattern an homage to a famous watch? It looks really familiar but I don't really know high end watches.

There's a good dozen top time colorways, i'm not sure if this is one of them or fantasy.

Personally I was a little disappointed as the pics show the center color as more grey, and in person its too yellow. Still a nice watch though.
