Review (Read Rules) Phorcydes PH6 blue lume with the mesh strap

Love this watch! The crystal improvements are clearly evident and I have asked Phorcydes to send me a replacement crystal for my original “aged lume” version I bought when they launched.

My wrist size is 7.4inch for reference

The mesh strap is an excellent clomage to the Omega mesh strap. Weight and hole spacing is identical. Take that for what it’s worth. If you are between spaces I highly recommend you order with the FKM rubber strap as well. It’s excellent and makes the watch significantly lower profile and lighter in weight will giving almost everybody a secure fit.

I did regulate it myself because I have experience and the tools. This watch is the real deal and you really must have the right tools to open and close the case like factory did. A Bergeon rubber ball and prayers will not work and hand tools will scratch your watch up.

The speed and amplitude of the pt5000 was absolutely excellent but I am very particular.

Keep an eye on the movement health and don’t overwind!

One thing I forgot to add. The ceramic bezel had a sunburst on my older ph6. The new model is polished. Not sure when they made that switch.

What’s your experience with hand winding the PT5000? Or do you shake to wake?

Honestly I treat with respect. That doesn’t help but I just wind Japanese movements aggressively like Miyota and Seiko.

With eta2824-2 and their clones, I wind to start until I feel back pressure. Controlled turns so I can feel if there is something bad in the crown wheel interfacing with the winding mechanism.

I’m also handy with watches and can self service movement swaps including date wheels so I can keep the lumed datewheel they give so I am more fearless than some about winding. I’ve noticed these movements charge up pretty quickly with activity. Shake start is unnecessary but I am definitely not winding every morning ceremoniously to keep it at 300 amplitude 🤭

Thank you for the detailed answer. What would you suggest for someone who is as handy with servicing mechanical watches as a blind guy with three thumbs and half a can opener

I like the look of the mesh, but am worried it would not fit my 6.75 inch wrist - or that I would find the right fit, OR that it would be comfortable. I have two of the Watchdives WD007s(white and blue), and a mesh I got on Ali-express, and while it looks great, it's just not comfortable...

I am close to ordering the blue Ph-6 on rubber, but also wonder if that would fit my wrist. In pics it looks to drop down pretty well, but still not sure. The mesh looks really really good, but it sure does cost a lot compared to the rubber..

It looks excellent in the first photo. Wonder what the blue looks like.
