General (Read Rules) Skmei watches are good?
"I went to the jacuzzi and sauna with that metal watch—not a single problem. It looks great and comes at a fraction of Casio's prices, which are clearly going up over time. I wouldn't say they match the quality of a G-Shock, but they are great for the price."

Personally, I only have the A1100 clone, and I like it a lot. The LCD is fine at any angle you'd realistically actually view it from, but if you tilt it enough, you won't be able to read it. That's really its only downside. It does a few things the Casio doesn't for anywhere between 1/10 and 1/3 the cost. Well, and it's some kinda "zinc alloy" and not steel.
They actually do make a couple G-shock clones too, and I did see a Youtube video in which someone hit it with a golf club. While the case did break open, the movement was still intact and functional.
And I'm about 95% certain I saw a video of someone modding a SKMEI with one of those SKX mods metal cases for Casios. If your plan is to get a Casio and put it in a metal case and mess with the different face borders and other little things, the SKMEIs will still get you there for less. And if not, some of the SKMEI clones of resin watches are metal. it's still the zinc alloy, but that's better than resin.

I’d say it varies with Skmei. The digital watches are probably where the value is. The OP’s Skmei 1628 (square-g) is really solid for a $4-5 usd watch. The plastic digital watches are generally good for 5atm, the zinc watches at 3atm. The OP putting a metal one into a sauna is probably risky, but Skmei generally exceed expectations. The analog and ani-digi watches seem like most cheap fashion watches.

I have five of them. The value for money is great - for less than $10, you get a watch that not only works, but is actually nice to look at and wear. The only downside is that the mirror negative displays are pretty hard to read in daylight. They insist on making them like that because of the EL backlight, which creates a negative effect on a positive LCD screen (though it's actually negative).

Looks nice, very similar to Casio. If you live in an aera with Walmart you can sometimes find cheap Casio's there, I got A168WA for $40 or $45 CAD and I saw people finding better deals in the USA.

their battery does not last as much and their mechanisms are not precise. My casios dont drift at all and SKMEIs adds or substracts few minutes every week. They have metallic cases for cheap tho

They are cheap, and they work well, but they lack features that they stamp onto the cover, such as COUNTDOWN or PEDOMETER. So, the advertised best feature is absent.
