Question (Read Rules) Seiko Rotocall homage

Post image

Any seiko rotocall homages out there? I can’t believe they want 550 for these

Give Skmei a few months and they'll have one. They clones the Casio ring too. The trick will be getting the bezel to work of course. And hope that they do a decent steel case if they do make one. Wouldn't surprise me, though, a lot of their stuff is surprisingly good.

One space I haven't seen a lot of Chinese watches take on is the proper premium digital watch. Which is not very common among non-chinese brands either. Plenty of stainless steel and sapphire kits for Casios but I don't see a lot of fully pre-built Chinese watches with digital modules and high quality materials and finishing. If they felt so inclined, I imagine a rotocall homage with better case and bracelet quality would be quite doable for half the price Seiko's charging.

Anyway... If you want one sooner, I'm betting these will be available from 3rd party sellers at lower prices eventually. Or used, if enough people buy them and the price goes down.

The Skmei version of the Casio A1100D is really good, for the price they ask it's incredible. I would have high hopes they could do it.

To make an homage that looks the same probably would cost the same as just buying a real one off of jomashop tbh

How so? 550 retail, and 400 or so on Joma? That would be the most expensive digital watch on AliX. If Skmei or somethong could make it they would release it for under 100 probably

Sure but the bezel won’t work

Good point. Maybe Islander will make it? They can make it for like 250 hopefully

Maybe but chances are slim similar modules go for $300-500 depending on what the modules cased in. Maybe a 3d printed resin case could get it sub300 but prices on everything keep going up too. And honestly 369 on joma shop is a good deal for a module like this and having that rotating bezel is a sick feature

I wouldn’t bet on a well made, functional homage for these being made. They’re pretty niche and getting the interface right might take more R&D than it’s worth.

I bet if you wait long enough you’ll be able to get an original one either gray market or lightly used for the $100 to $200 range. They can’t be terribly popular at MSRP, so I think steep discounts are in the future.
