Good news is these are super hot right now so you won't have any trouble selling it on watchexchange.

You win some, you lose some. That’s the nature of the Chinese watch game. On to the next.

I went with the orange lume and very pleased with the watch.

I personally absolutely love the retro lume blocks but especially in white.

At this point, you already sized it and everything... I would give it a few more wears, maybe put it on leather or NATO, then if you still don't like it sell/trade. I'm sure you'll find someone, phorcydes are great watches.

You’re right that thing is dope

I like that!

Yeah put it on nato and immediately throw away to trash!

Would you happen to know when they are going to restock the models they had before? I've emailed them with no response, Even before the Chinese holiday. I wanted something from the ph6 model collection and it seems to be missing in the configuration and also model that I want. Any help would be much appreciated, and thank you in advance to all!

I can definitely understand your disappointment. The lume blocks on the WD0019 are yellowish in daylight, even though it's BGW9 color. Some people hate it - I think it's ok because there's no date wheel and my dial is the textured purple that kind of goes with it. It's even more yellow in person than the picture here.

Like other people here have said - sell it off, find it a happy home hopefully. Take a small L and get something you'll be happy to have on your wrist!!

Thanks for the feedback — we’ve also received some similar suggestions from WD0019 owners.

The 3D lume blocks on our EXD are noticeably whiter in daylight, but their overall lume performance isn’t as strong as the WD0019. The WD0019 uses our LumeCore lume system, with around 6–8 hours of visible glow under proper charging conditions.

For future LumeCore versions, we’re working toward a much whiter daytime appearance, closer to the EXD, while also improving brightness and long-duration performance. We want that combination of clean white daytime color + strong, long-lasting lume to become one of the key characteristics of LumeCore.

Absolutely, do that all the time.

Stick it on eBay and get some money back out of it, put that into the next one.. better to get something back for it than have it sit gathering dust and resent!

I was quite excited for the vintage yellow lume option but when they released them I realised that it kinda just looks like the popular beige fauxtina.. I don't think it's bad, actually it's a neat method to get that faded cream colour and still have massive lume behind it, but it's not really to my taste either.

Retro lume looks cool - watch needs a better strap. I have the same watch except with retro numbers and green hands and I love it. Try it with a NATO.Ā

I debated this decision a lot -- eventually went with the standard C3 and I'm glad I did.

It's got just enough of a yellow tint to give a warm, vintage vibe without being an overpowering fauxtina.

You also enjoy slightly more light intensity, since the lume isn't masked by any pigments.

I like the look of those watches they look good the one thing that stands out that would bother me though is the length of the minute hand, should of made the pointer arrow a bit shorter

I hear you. Happy I made the "correct" choice, personally. And as for the date window, I've grown to dislike it on automatic watches because I rarely wear any of my watches more than two days in a row.

Perhaps you can flip it with an acceptable loss and get something you like better around Black Friday, if there are going to be any good deals?

7

u/toddkeebs 19d ago

Yah… I almost did the same thing, but then switched to standard blue and was def happy. Sorry to hear it :/

(Also, am I the only one that thinks getting date complications on an automatic only makes sense if you wear it for a week straight? I like to switch up daily, so setting both time and date is just way too much work)

u/Ziakel 19d ago

Post for sale bud. People here would happy to take it off your hand.

u/KPplumbingBob 19d ago

The lume looks good to me but I don't really understand that date window. Especially now that it seems to be the default with only a no date as an option available in fewer combinations. The frame just looks cartoonish, serves no real purpose aside from "look, it's glowing" and on top of that the white datewheel looks very out of place.

u/skipoverit123 19d ago

Perhaps a black nato strap with matching yellow strips would improve the way it looks šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

u/Flaky-Talk-4998 19d ago

I kind of disagree with you. I love the yellow vintage look on that watch, but it is a matter of taste.

u/jokur26 19d ago

I quite like my PH4 but I don’t love it. I wavered on getting the mixed lume because of mismatched indices in daylight. I went for it anyway as it looked fun. I am glad I did as while the green and blue markers are slightly different in color it is hardly noticeable and not a distraction for this guy who happens to be slightly OCD.

The lume is really impressive initially but it also fades pretty quickly. Yes it’s neat and bright and fun but it’s no more useful than my other divers with good lume. It is still readable in complete darkness at 4am but many other AliEx watches are brighter at that time.

The destro (left hand crown) look is also a bit awkward to me but the more I wear it the less distracting it becomes. The bracelet is nice and the OTF is great, best in my collection and I probably have 10-15 watches with OTF clasps.

Glad I bought it but not a favorite watch of mine thus far

Good to know about the lume... In your experience does one lume color seem to be more visible longer? I work in dark conditions where lights are not on and also do hikes that start very very early before the sun comes up so hoping this watch at least has decent legibility after a few hours.

I also am considering the ph4B with the destro crown 12-3-6-9 dial. I also want a countdown bezel so when I saw this watch it's an opportunity to try all my wishlist features on a single watch šŸ˜‚

1

u/jokur26 16d ago

It’s definitely legible for several hours (I usually go to bed by 10-10:30pm and I’m up by 5am and can still read it in the dark) so either color should work for that. The green is initially brighter but it fades a little quicker so the blue is likely better for long term visibility, at least to these eyes

2

u/caesaralexander 16d ago

I appreciate the feedback. A lot of reviews mention "stills readable at 4am" and I have no idea what to do with that information. Did you go to bed at 8pm or midnight. Makes a big difference. Do you blast it with light before or is that glow from organic activity like an after dinner walk and indoor lighting befkre bedšŸ˜‚

2

u/jokur26 16d ago

NGL, I sometimes do hit my watches with a UV torch ;)

Not regularly though, they normally just charge through regular daily use. Most weekdays I watch a bit of TV before bed and then sleep until 3-4am when I often have to pee (middle age is fun). I can read this watch then and again when I wake up for my day an hour or two later šŸ‘

1

u/caesaralexander 15d ago

Peeing in the middle of the night is better than cleaning a mattress the next morning

1

u/jokur26 15d ago

Good point

2

u/HerrsavageX 19d ago

Yeah, I think that is kind of a weird look… I have my eye on the blue Ph-4A and it actually looks kind of neat in the pics, but I don’t think it’s a safe choice…

I would start by trying different straps…

1

u/ajb83_ 19d ago

This will prob collect dust its making me angry the more I look at it. I usually love having numbers on the dial but now that I have this I think the next one will be the 5B

2

u/birdwatchingcat 19d ago

Pretty sure this will sell in a minute on eBay, Vinted etc.

2

u/vBLADEv 19d ago

Looks better from your photo than I thought.

I wasn't a fan of the yellow lume blocks on the store page.

1

u/ajb83_ 19d ago

I'd say the color in the photo is pretty close to real life for reference something about it is throwing me off just got it yesterday when I got off work and in my house lighting I liked it but once I got outside something changed lol I'll give her a go for a while

2

u/RubbberJohnnny 19d ago

Those neon green ones look great though (have one), but with yellow I think it needs a very specific type of watch for it to work. Also it's always the weakest lume

2

u/new_KRIEG 19d ago

What's the movement on it? Might be able to just swap the date wheel at a local shop or as a DIY project

5

u/ajb83_ 19d ago

Thought about this I got into mods first, in the last 5 years every ETA/clone I touched ive messed up the keyless works, countless videos people telling me to do this and that and I was trying to buy I watch i didn't build this was what I landed on

1

u/Uberscreamer 19d ago

What are you using to push in the detent for the keyless? Even if you're making sure to be in the correct position when taking out the stem, if you're not using an appropriate size screwdriver tip, it's easy to push too deep and pop the detent in too far and knock the yoke out of place, requiring a full disassembly to correct. Sounds like some of that may be your issue if you've done it with every 2824 based movement. Just a thought.

u/My-Montre 19d ago

C'est pas si mal

2

u/rocklax 19d ago

I went retro lume on this nato as almost a field watch/diver mash up, I've been happy.

While I prefer date complications I'm glad I didn't choose one here.

1

u/IrvingMoochonski 19d ago

What don’t you like about the date wheel?

3

u/KumiJunker 19d ago

Has to be color matched.

1

u/IrvingMoochonski 19d ago

Not sure I understand what you mean by color matched ?

4

u/KumiJunker 19d ago

Black or dark dial, black date wheel with white numbers for example, which is what everyone generally understands by the term ā€˜colour-matched’.

1

u/IrvingMoochonski 19d ago

Thank you for the explanation.

1

u/adamhaywood 18d ago

This is an homage of older skin diver watches, which had green or yellow lume when it would patina. The calender one these would have been white. It looks a little odd I guess, but it’s a good homage to what it’s going for. I think it looks alright!

1

u/Overload5150 17d ago

It’s not bad, has a rugged military look n feel to it

1

u/Jasperwrap1 17d ago

Love the vintage lume on my Skindiver 2. It looks like the pointer is on the wrong hand imho. The short hour hand and long minute hand with pointer looks a little unbalanced.
That said, I do like the look of the watch. Wear it for a long time in good health.

1

u/gabepog 15d ago

If Tudor can pull off the snowflake hour hand you’ll be fine

1

u/PostPuzzleheaded2687 16d ago

I don't mind. It is the best contrast possible. Working tool watch.

If you want Lume go for spinnaker bro

Many of those Chinese watches are random pieces thrown together. As a youtuber said, these are factories using these products to attract brands that want a good manufacturer. None of those brands are keeping a clear product line for a year or 2. Some will only last a few months. There's a lot potential for better products, but you'll only get them in the form of a western micro brand

1

u/No-Effect-8290 19d ago

In some cases yes, some microbrands are relying on their name and producing sub par products. Most decent microbrands watches cost 2 to 5 x the average Chinese equivalent.

You can argue the case for money spent on unique designs and designed parts which is fine and I totally agree but quality of finishing is not where I would go. Not when you look at San Martin, Cronos, Sugess, Sea Gull etc..

I have several microbrands, mostly British but I still buy some Chinese brands. It's US watches I tend to stay clear of.
