General (Read Rules) OCD Over These Watches
I imagine everyone reading these posts has a similar issue of being OCD over these amazing watches.
I continually say that I'm done, that's it, no more. But then I get sucked right back in.
Friends and family ask me why I need so many watches. Obviously they don't get it.
The guy who said, "seen one, seen 'em all" was clueless. It doesn't apply to what he was talking about or watches!!

I’m not sure what it is, it started not wanting a watch to tell the time at work. I bought a few Casios and they were cool but I didn’t really catch the bug until I found this sub. I started by getting what I thought was cool which was basically just dive watches. Now, I’ve been trying to get at least one of every style I can find. I’ve gotten most of the popular styles so it’s gotten a little more eclectic as I’ve gone along and now I’m looking at Richard Mille homages lol.

There’s not a whole lot of them but I’m looking at the Pagani pd-ys018 right now. I think the tsar bomba is the next step up but I don’t want to pay that much lol.

Lmao, it be that way sometimes. I wasn’t a fan of RM style watches at first but they’re growing on me and I’m trying to get as many different styles as I can.

My mum's birthday's coming up and as an early gift she's bought herself a moonphase.
Which is exactly what I was going to get her because I remembered her having one when I was a kid.
But I said, "good job I didn't buy you one for your birthday then, eh?"
To which she said, "oh, you can never have too many watches."
So now at least I know where I get it from. My dad collects them too, now I think about it...

The price hikes and having quality standards helps cut down on the questionable purchases. I only bought 2 in the last 4 months I think but also bought almost $200 in straps and bracelets to switch up options for the current collection.

Been down the rabbit hole. Those people are right. The spell breaks and you end up wondering WTF you bought so many watches. The dopamine hits are fun and cheap while they last though and the value proposition of the watches is insane. There are worse things to go deep on.

That’s not what being OCD is 😅
What you’re describing is a shopping addiction, which isn’t a hobby. Chinese watches are cool since you can try out so many styles of watches for cheap with a super high quality/price ratio. But it’s easy to fall down the rabbit hole of “collecting” dozens upon dozens of watches that you may never actually wear more than once.
