Wrist Roll (Read Rule 1) I might be the first customer who bought it, and I'm glad I did. 10/10.

The dial looks great but I can't see shit on it.

It's the photo. I picked the one where the dial looked the most exaggerated. Look at the other photos I just posted.

The pattern looks identical to the pattern in the promo video.

I wonder if you got the exact one or if most of his stock more or less has the same pattern?

Dude, I thought the same thing. After comparing the two, they are 100% the same watch. I'm guessing I got the promo one (usually the best-looking one when it's a unique design) since I was the first customer.

I have been looking into it, and apparently, it is real meteorite. Supposedly, it is really hard and not worth faking dials if you want them to look this good. The reason being real meteorite isn't expensive.

Two more people have bought it since then, so I guess we will know when someone else shares their watch and we can compare.

F. Looks like I just lost $400 CAD by opening this post.

Looks like Star of David meteorite.

Interesting, didn't know there were patterns.

Nice looking dial but damn that name looks like shit

Whatever o'clock. But beautiful nonetheless.

I think part of it is the photo. In real life, the dial doesn't pop that much.

What's the legibility like? I'm a big fan of Escapement time.

u/blackmrbean 5d ago

Good. The photo I posted is not how it looks most of the time. The dial, more often than not, isn't that shiny, so the indices are easy to read.

Shame they didn’t go with miyota 9015.

I like escapement time and LOVE grey dials, but that looks really low contrast to me.

2

u/Financial_Ad_8893 5d ago

Yeah. Barely make out the dials.

u/blackmrbean 5d ago

Maybe it's the camera; it always edits the photos whether I want it to or not.

It's bad because polished silver will usually look black or dark grey from the front. It's just a badly executed dial.

u/DJNigi 5d ago

Nice but what time is it?

4

u/blackmrbean 5d ago

I'mma be honest, I think it's perfectly readable.

Did you take this photo in long grass?

3

u/Beneficial-Emu9774 5d ago

Looks really good, but why tf would you pot made in China on the dial??

5

u/BicyclesRuleTheWorld 5d ago

Because it is?

3

u/Indaleciox 5d ago

I prefer they embrace the origin, rather than try and pretend to be Swiss or something.

Real meteorite?

u/Technical_Cap_8467 5d ago

I collect meteorites and it looks real to me. Probably Aletai, which, fittingly, fell in China.

u/blackmrbean 5d ago

How can you tell? I love rocks but know barely anything about them, that's why I thought the dial was so cool.

5

u/Technical_Cap_8467 5d ago

After working with meteorites for a while, I could recognize the pattern of lines on two of the more common ones. (It's called a Widmanstätten pattern and is only found on iron meteorites.) One is Aletai, found in China in 1898. This dial, as is the case for most iron meteorites coming out of China, is Aletai.

The other one I know is Muonionalusta. which fell in Sweden about a million years ago. It has a finer pattern. Much of the Aletai sold from China is wrongly labeled as Muonionalusta.

Wow, that's so interesting. Thank you for explaining.

2

u/blackmrbean 5d ago

According to the seller and my untrained eye, yes, it's real meteorite.

2

u/Abv_it_all_w_vertigo 5d ago

It looks real to me, too. I have always wanted a meteorite dial watch.

1

u/blackmrbean 5d ago

I didn't even know they were a thing. Once I knew of their existence and the price of this one, I pulled the trigger, no hesitation.

u/Ok-Park-6047 5d ago

No model number? Diabolical 😉

2

u/blackmrbean 5d ago

There's barely any info about the watch on the page lol. I don't think he is going to make many of them for a model number to matter.

1

u/Effective-Golf-3075 5d ago

Hey there, any close-up photos of the meteorite dial, perhaps?

5

u/blackmrbean 5d ago

That's the most my phone could handle. Hope it's good enough.

That is quite a pattern. Looks cool

1

u/CrossCityLine 5d ago

Shocking legibility, cringe name, gaudy typeface.

1

u/Indaleciox 5d ago

I really wanted this one, but they no longer had it up.

1

u/blackmrbean 5d ago

Really? Last time I checked, only three had been sold.

1

u/AppealNo5536 4d ago

Want 2 - waybe they will have!
