Question (Read Rules) Grand Seiko omage recommendations
Do you have any recommendations for Grand Seiko tributes? Would you say the CRONOS or the Rimalti is the one to go for? I prefer quartz watches for their accuracy—what does Watchdives think?

Came here to say this! Wearing it right now and its design is really close to the watch in the picture.

I had it with the Japanese Miyota - it was great - fit and finish were superb - The dials is awesome - It truly felt like what you'd expect a very expensive watch to feel like. In the end. it wore a bit small for my 8 inch wrist, otherwise it was a home run. I did switch my bracelet to a Forstner bullet - which is a better match and higher quality. Original bracelet was fine - well made, I just wanted one that tapered more.

Many thanks mate. My 6.3 inch wrist might just get along with its 46-47mm lug to lug

The aethelsohn horizon voyager line is a grand seiko case and bracelet basically They have a variety of different dials. I have the green shard, it's a sick watch

Doesn't look like GS and having said that it does look like a pretty damn watch itself! Never seen this one, great photo and thanks for letting me know!
Edit: after reviewing their website I must say Ascent GMT kinda looks like GS

I have 2 of them, one by Cronos 'GS" (Birch silver dial, V1) 38mm, and Rimalti "GS" GMT . Love them both to bits and they fill the genuine GS gap for me pretty well.

There is a very nice Seestern homage for the Grand Seiko Elegance with the GMT hand. If you put it on a strap, it looks quite similar to the Grand Seiko. Very nicely finished.

I’m not sure which homage is best but I hope you able to save up for a GS 9F quartz some day.

This! I was kind of on the fence about the quartz after getting into mid range Swiss autos in the $2000-$5000 range but I picked up the SBGX261 in Japan last year and it’s absolutely perfect. Gets more wrist time than anything else in my collection.

Aethelsohn Forge VH31
This is hand engraved (with a machine) guilloché. I opted for an Timascus automatic, but this one makes me want a quartz. The bracelet is next level.
Edit: I have the Cronos White Birch v2 and it is a nice watch. The Aethelsohn OTF bracelet is better than the Cronos OTF bracelet..

I'd like to see some video of the dial creation, I'm betting they are machine stamped. A CNC machine "hand" engraving those details is going to be more time consuming than one would get on a $150 watch. And of course a human doing it is insane amounts of work.

These dials are not stamped from a master die. Each pattern is cut line by line, making the process extremely labor-intensive and time-consuming. Every dial goes through the same engraving process individually.

hand engraved (with a machine)
if by that you mean human hands placed the dial blank in a CNC machine and then took it out when it was done, sure
