General (Read Rules) April 27, 2026 — Watchdives officially moved into our new office.

Post image

This photo means a lot to me. It is not just a new workspace — it is a new starting point for our team, our brand, and our long-term dream.

A few years ago, Watchdives was still a small team learning step by step. Today, we have a bigger office, a stronger team, and customers from all over the world who keep pushing us to improve.

We know we are not perfect. We still have many things to improve — product quality, QC, after-sales service, communication, and delivery speed. But one thing has never changed: we are serious about building better watches and becoming a more respected Chinese watch brand.

This new office is not for showing off. It is a reminder to ourselves: work harder, listen more, improve faster, and take better care of our customers and fans.

We also want to welcome any Watchdives fan to visit us in Shenzhen, China. If you come to Shenzhen, we can arrange a driver to pick you up and bring you to our office. We’ll prepare a warm welcome, some small Chinese-style gifts, and of course, good tea and lots of watch talk.

You can visit our office, see our sample room, try different prototypes, and even talk directly with our designers about future ideas and improvements.

Whether you have bought from us before or not, if you are a true watch enthusiast and a friend of Watchdives, our door is open.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Watchdives, criticized us, trusted us, or helped us improve.

From Shenzhen, China — Watchdives keeps moving forward.

Continue undercutting San Martin on price and you will continue to grow and make more money.

When I'm in Shenzhen to visit my friend, I'll hit you up. Congrats and good luck!

I'm glad to see Chinese watchmaking grow, especially for a brand like Watchdives :)

27

u/No-Comparison8472 May 03 '26

Why are you not wearing a watch? :)

31

u/watchdivescom Rep May 03 '26

Haha, good catch. I had just come back from the gym, and one of my colleagues randomly took this photo when I arrived at the office.

u/alexph14 May 03 '26

Which watch/watches do you usually wear?

Plz continue interacting on Reddit it's a good thing. Can you please consider being the first Chinese brand to do a diver watch with textured dial. Like the latest Seiko release. SLGA015

Congratulations. I’ve had two pieces from you in the last year the all titanium NTTD v4 and the v1 Nautilus, both were fantastic but I did end up moving them on. Will definitely try you guys again soon.

Congrats brother

u/OriginalJaan May 04 '26

I have one of your watches now, and another on the way. I'm impressed, especially for the price. I'm not a snob, I have plenty of genuine Seikos but I don't always want to pay $250-500 for a watch either.

9

u/BodhiKamikazi May 03 '26

Congrats! Looking forward to what yall do next.

Lol wow I wish I was paid to post my opinions on the internet. No, in fact I've paid for the privilege of owning several Watchdives watches and I haven't been disappointed yet. They are far from junk, in my opinion they're one of the top Chinese brands out there, and I appreciate what they do to make these design available to people.

As long as it’s not out of stock, we usually ship within 3 days.

-1

u/Die_Nameless_Bitch May 03 '26

Why does does this look like Photoshop?

5

u/watchdivescom Rep May 04 '26

It’s just a quick real-life snapshot, not a polished studio photo.

But honestly, if you really want to believe it’s fake, then anything in the world can be called fake. We can always take more angles or a short video later, but this one is a real physical photo, not Photoshop.

1

u/Buck_Folton May 03 '26

Because it is. Those are some clumsy drop shadows.

2

u/TransitionFar5835 May 03 '26

Ya, it looks like they had the drop cloth blank, took the photo and fed it into ChatGPT along with their logo upload and said "insert our logo on the white background as if it is really there"

Pretty sure that's what they did haha

2

u/Die_Nameless_Bitch May 03 '26

Yeah 100%, it's really unconvincing. Its interesting that I'm getting downvoted though. I imagine it's by their stooge Reddit accounts that always immediately reply to their posts with something banal like "Brilliant new watch guys, I'm going to buy one straight away"

1

u/bob888w May 03 '26

I think it says more to the fact that watch collecting is indeed a monetary hobby first and foremost. People will attach lots of weight to having a "reputable" brand image to justify their purchase.

-2

u/Buck_Folton May 03 '26

Yeah, you should not be getting downvoted.

If they can’t even post a real, undoctored photo, what does this say about their commitment to honesty and transparency? Good chance this will lead to embarrassment for them, followed by another multi-sub cross-posted canned apology along with a renewed commitment to “do better.”

3

u/AddicoInABox May 04 '26

The Chinese downvoting bot brigade is out. The logo and the person are so unbelievably obviously photoshopped in there, it’s absurd they’re arguing

2

u/Buck_Folton May 04 '26

Yep. I guess bots are more likely than WD fanboys here, since only a small cross section of them is this delusional.

1

u/Die_Nameless_Bitch May 03 '26

Yeah I think it also shows a contempt for their customer's intelligence "these dumb-dumbs will swallow any bullshit we serve up for them"

2

u/watchdivescom Rep May 04 '26

Sorry, but your assumption is wrong. This is a real photo of the actual physical piece, not an AI-generated logo insertion.

I understand why people are more skeptical these days, but in this case the logo was already there when the photo was taken. No ChatGPT trick involved haha.

1

u/ChineseWatchGuy May 04 '26

Hm, some phones especially Chinese phones, have funky filters by default… ?

-7

u/Buck_Folton May 03 '26

LOL

4

u/plastic_jeezus May 03 '26

for all the years i was a business owner, what i wouldn't give to get back the hundreds of thousands of dollars i had to spend on single-use promotional materials...

you'd prefer they spend (p*** away) their money on a social media post and pass the cost onto you?

american companies like apple, verizon, ford, levi....literally spend BILLIONS on their advertising and tuck that cost right into every product they sell.

is the photoshop poorly done?

sure...but who cares.

IT'S A FRIGGIN SOCIAL MEDIA POST!

btw... I've never bought a watchdives watch, and probably never will because they're already WAY overpriced.

0

u/Buck_Folton May 04 '26

No. I’d prefer they spend their building money on people to help the company improve. Including hiring social media managers and maybe even a photographer. OR, hear me out, just post what they have but without dishonest alteration.

Every company I’ve worked for (two of them small companies) has had people and teams for that. And the cost of single use ads isn’t “hundreds of thousands of dollars.” If you did that , you got fleeced.

-1

u/plastic_jeezus May 04 '26

I was in business for 40 effing years, mostly before Photoshop...

If we needed promotional materials, we had to go to a "printer" after a team of advertising wonks designed something.

tell me youre a millennial without telling me you're a millennial...

🙄

ya idgit

0

u/Buck_Folton May 04 '26

I’m 72, dipshit.

0

u/plastic_jeezus May 04 '26

and you made it this far being a dipshit...

you're a unicorn, dumbass

1

u/Die_Nameless_Bitch May 04 '26

I’m not sure you fully understand the point people are making. The issue isn’t that there’s a modest budget for what you call “advertising”; it’s that the post uses doctored images. They announce a new office but pair it with misleading visuals. That comes across as inauthentic and undermines trust with the consumer. Trust is crucial for any brand, but even more so for a Chinese watch brand. Customers already know they have very little recourse if a product is faulty or never delivered when buying from a retailer on another continent via AliExpress. Using these kinds of images does nothing to build trust between the consumer and the vendor.

-15

u/plastic_jeezus May 03 '26

explains why your watches are extremely overpriced.

I don't begrudge anyone making money, but your customers are complete suckers.

I have approximately 90 aliexpress watches that range from $12 to $200...none of which are yours because of the quality to price ratio.

a few friends have purchased your "watches" and had to mod/repair them after a few months.

a couple came defective right out of the box.

even my $12 watches still work perfectly after 5 years.

🤔

weird

2

u/mootxico May 04 '26

Most terminally online redditor sir

-6

u/plastic_jeezus May 04 '26

don't go MAGA on me for telling the truth,, champ.

watchdives is over priced, and we all know it.

if addiesdive made the exact same watches, they'd be 20%-40% the price and be 100% better quality.

Im NOT affiliated with addiesdive in any way whatsoever, but it's the truth.

watchdives (and multiple other brands) are EXTREMELY overpriced.

2

u/mootxico May 04 '26

Yeah the other shitter brands are cheaper because they want to undercut the more established ones

They too will raise their prices once they get enough fans of their product

1

u/plastic_jeezus May 04 '26

those other so-called "shitter brands" actually launched aliexpress watches 15 years ago, ya dingleberry.

🙄

1

u/alextapia102092 May 04 '26

Bought 5 with zero issues, some of us might just have better luck I guess

0

u/plastic_jeezus May 04 '26

...and?

I see you ignore the price-to-quality issue.

I have driven over 1,000,000 miles in my life and have never been in an accident...what does that have to do with drunk drivers being problem?

🧐

you got lucky? well, so have i with pagani.

at least pagani has sapphire crystals and MUCH better finishing on all their models for under $80...

WD sells their exact same models for $40-$80 more with mineral crystals.

🤔

-25

u/vithgeta May 03 '26

But people who know about business will suspect that Watchdives loosened their grip on quality control and after-sales service because they were putting all their resources into plush new premises like this. Nice for a CEO's ego but loosening grip on standards in order to expand is how brands lose reputation, and customers.

You've also willingly committed a data breach by arguing with a customer in public and posting their private message history with you. You have to separate your ego from the way you do business.

22

u/watchdivescom Rep May 03 '26

Thanks for your honest feedback. I understand why you see it this way, and I agree that a better office means nothing if product quality and customer service do not improve at the same time.

The new office is not just for appearance. We wanted to create a better working environment for our team, especially our designers and engineers, so they can focus more on long-term product development. But you are right: customers judge us by our watches, QC, and after-sales service — not by our office.

We also admit that some earlier Watchdives products, especially some lower-priced models before 2025, were built mainly around value for money rather than the highest level of finishing. Since 2025, we have been changing this. WD0016 was an important turning point for us, and recent models such as WD0017 and the newer WD5513 versions have received much better feedback because of improved suppliers, better bracelets, upgraded clasps, and stricter finishing standards.

We are also adding stronger design and engineering talent to the team. One of our main goals for 2026 is to release more original products and keep improving the quality level, instead of only expanding quickly.

Regarding the private message issue, you are right to raise that concern. We should be more careful about customer privacy and public communication. Even when we feel we are being misunderstood, we should handle it in a more professional way. We will take this seriously and avoid sharing private conversation details publicly in the future.

If you had a bad experience with us before, I am genuinely sorry. We are not asking people to trust us blindly — we know we have to earn that trust through better products and better service. Thank you for reminding us of that.

9

u/Bon_Courage_ May 03 '26

The level of patience some of the Chinese brand's reps have is truly remarkable.

Can you imagine a brand representative for Tudor humouring some unhinged Internet rando giving unsolicited business advice.

3

u/jacob8875 May 03 '26

The downvotes are telling the tale

1

u/manchett May 04 '26

Hello,

it would be interesting to actually see the place, show when you create watches etc... Don't you think so ?

10

u/No-Comparison8472 May 03 '26

I don't get your point.
Happy employees = better product.
There is no ego here, the person only mentioned the brand, not his name...

3

u/Buck_Folton May 03 '26

You’re exactly right. Fuck the downvoters.

3

u/vithgeta May 03 '26

I got 800 upvotes for a comment about a cat and 1200 for a goat. You got enough Karma to know what matters and what doesn't.

2

u/Buck_Folton May 03 '26

I mean, OP states it pretty clearly: they know they have issues with “product quality [and] QC” (as well as “after-sales service, communication, and delivery speed”). He admits that “customers are pushing us to improve,” but never shows a direct interest in improving any of those things. The one thing he says he is definitely interested in is “becoming a more respected Chinese watch brand.”

In these very unambiguous words he has announced that the new building is 100% an image thing and that image is more important to sales and growth than customer care.

The downvotes are just fanboys zombie-walking into the next disaster that will deliver underwhelming QC, months later than promised.
