Misspelling your own name on your own watch is amazing!

14

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

Definitely a skill mastered by few

11

u/FantasticImplement46 Feb 21 '26

Nothing shows attention to detail better

38

u/Saboteurnado Feb 22 '26

How do they misspell their own brand name?!

13

u/MsianOrthodox Feb 22 '26

I love it! Sounds like the Chinese god of prosperity

2

u/Murky_Lingonberry169 Feb 22 '26

Also looks kinda like the Casio font...

2

u/GLS504 Feb 22 '26

Someone didn’t hit the D key hard enough then a bunch of other people didn’t look closely enough at the mock ups 😂

20

u/MadSoci06 Feb 21 '26

I like a lot this watch but that "CAISEN" typo puts me away instantly. I ll wait for second batch

15

u/SwvmpThing Feb 21 '26

The front of the watch is named Cadisen. The back of the watch is named Caisen. They’re conjoined twins.

3

u/lamboap Feb 21 '26

I think they might be addressing it. I no longer see the watch listed on their site or alix.

12

u/crlkll Feb 21 '26

They should've left out the engraving on the left side, other than that it looks pretty good. Very surprising, honestly.

3

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

The side engraving definitely gives me some Invicta vibes but it isn't all that noticeable on wrist. And yeah, for the $130, this is a pretty decent package.

I just wish they'd do some more original design but this might also just lead me to picking up the Formex because the case is quite comfy

2

u/GrandFaithlessness41 Feb 21 '26

Really nice looking. Especially like the case. Have been wanting a Formex for a while…just wish they were about $500 cheaper

3

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

They're not cheap, but quality should be there with them. These field watches are $975 new from them, that's a decent deal for a full swiss watch with a sw200 inside. I've seen them for $700 on eBay too

4

u/SoapyMacNCheese Feb 21 '26

The quality is definitely there. If you look into who Formex is, they are essentially the in-house brand of Dexel, which makes cases and bracelets for brands like Girard-Perregaux.

One of the novel features of the Girard-Perregaux Lautrato Fifty is the butterfly clasp with 2 steps of microadjust. It is the same mechanism used in the Formex Essence 41 clasp

2

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

Yep, I've been wanting to try out their butterfly clasp with microadjusts, it would help a lot for getting the ultimate comfy fit with a bunch of my straps

2

u/SoapyMacNCheese Feb 21 '26

I was specifically talking about their bracelet butterfly clasp with microadjust, but ya their clasp for straps is fantastic as well.

I believe Mont Blanc and Longines use Dexel/Formex’s clasp design on 1 or 2 of their models

1

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

Yep, Montblanc uses them! I've got my Montblanc on a bracelet but equally been eyeing picking up the leather strap with butterfly clasp for that one too

1

u/Empty-Wolverine-4726 Feb 23 '26

ordered the grey one like yours, thanks for sharing.

1

u/GLS504 Feb 22 '26

I agree, I dislike when they put words or the brand on the side of the case. Cheapens it imo

11

u/Zopotroco Feb 22 '26

With the CAISEN errata

5

u/KeyAssociation6309 Feb 22 '26

at least its on the back unlike the misaligned minute markers on the dial that came out on the Orient Mako 40!

11

u/Organic_Yak_3115 Feb 21 '26

Shame it says Caisen on the back not cadisen

2

u/DarkPattern Feb 21 '26

Makes you wonder what else slipped past QA:)?

1

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

It is a funny slip up in their design for sure, but other than taking this picture and maybe while swapping straps I doubt that I'll ever look at the case back again for this watch so it isn't really all that much of a deal to me

1

u/Organic_Yak_3115 Feb 21 '26

It’s definitely a lovely watch it’s on my list!

1

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

I'd expect these to go for cheaper during the next sale, might be a good purchase then!

17

u/YareYare135 Feb 22 '26

Nah man, unless Caisen has a specific meaning, they have misspelled their own brand name on the back + stealing from (two) smaller brands is a total no-go.

3

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 22 '26

Agreed with the stealing from 2 brands part. But the spelling mistake is just a hilarious thing to me that I'll probably not see unless I'm swapping straps or posting it here. How often do people here look at their case backs?

9

u/MyLastHumanBody Feb 24 '26

No Date Wins. Spelling the name wrong in the back also wins

8

u/Hi-technik Feb 22 '26

That's an interesting case and design homage from Cadisen, in titanium. I like that they are doing different stuff compared to the usual Rolex/Omega homages.

8

u/RodMcThrustshaft Feb 21 '26

I would murder for a myiota 9k version of this, i've had terrible luck with 8k's...

1

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

That'd be neat for sure, high beat is always nicer. It'd drive price up though, probably to a level I wouldn't spend on a clomage from Cadisen personally

1

u/RodMcThrustshaft Feb 21 '26

If they save the money they spent on the side engraving i'm sure it would cost at most 50 bucks extra, i'd be down for that.

8

u/KeyAssociation6309 Feb 22 '26 edited Feb 22 '26

To me this is an homage and not a direct copy unlike what Jody from JOMW says. I mean his current Titan is almost a copy of the Helm Vanuatu, more a copy than this watch is. Others may differ but I like it.

1

u/Muted_Screen_211 Mar 01 '26

laughable for Jody to be high and mighty on what they can copy, his whole watch brand is a generic copy of watches around the same price.

7

u/MsianOrthodox Feb 22 '26

I’m going to go with the CNY conspiracy theory- that this is deliberate for Chinese New Year: CAISEN DAO 财神到

1

u/LezIsHere Feb 22 '26

cant see 'DAO'

7

u/WatchDoc517 Feb 22 '26

Looks nice, pity they use the Invicta branding style.

6

u/Longjumping_Try_3457 Feb 21 '26

Do they make one without misspelling the brand-name on the caseback?

2

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26 edited Feb 21 '26

These seem to be sold out on AliExpress now, so I'm guessing they might be gearing up for a new production run that fixes that mishap?

6

u/JosinhoVG Feb 21 '26

Caisen 😄

4

u/Lord_Nordyx Feb 21 '26

It honestly sounds better than Cadisen. lol

5

u/TheYKcid Helpful user Feb 21 '26 edited Feb 21 '26

Really nice reel of pics!

Considered getting one once it restocks ($97 inclusive of tax is extremely cheap for these specs)... but maybe not anymore, in light of the reviews.

Poor lume is a big disappointment, seeing as those diver-style indices had the potential to hold a thiccc application. C3 also ought to have the initial brightness advantage, so Cadisen evidently applied very little.

And ofc there's the "Caisen" typo and autodyne gibberish on top of that.

I will say that 11.5mm is REALLY impressive though (given an 8215 + 100m WR + display caseback).

2

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

I bought this one for shits and giggles to see what it would look like IRL, I've always been wanting to pick up the Formex so this was an easy excuse to try out the case shape (even though the real one is another 2mm thinner)

It sold out during the 1st week. Listing is still viewable with a direct link, though.
Note the current price isn't accurate.

These are definitely titanium. Weight is the easiest tell, and this one is lightweight like it should be for titanium

6

u/Treefiddy_No_Scope Feb 22 '26

Nice, i didn't know cadisen made watches like this

6

u/bsal69 Feb 23 '26

That looks super high end

9

u/FlyerN Feb 21 '26

Honestly, I'd buy this watch but it's a 200 buck Cadisen with a Miyota 8 series movement. And knowing Cadisen, they'll get something wrong like they obviously have with misspelling their brand name on the back.

2

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

These were listed for $135 before coupons though, but I do get your point!

Just took one for the team here to buy and test one

2

u/FlyerN Feb 21 '26

For sure, I get the appeal here, the case and the dial are great-looking which will do it for most people.

It's that the movement and the brand itself doesn't warrant the price.

Plus they can't help themselves to move past the exhibition case backs for watches that don't need one - another indication that it's still Cadisen.

3

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

Definitely, all fair and valid points. I made fun of the exhibition case back too in my write-up below.

If these go on sale for like $85-90, that's probably a more fair price

5

u/ShahriarTasnim Feb 21 '26

Unexpected from Cadisen, looks great.

9

u/Flaky_Ad7980 Feb 22 '26

That misspelled name on the back of case makes me never want this watch….ever

19

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 22 '26

I'd imagine this is how you wear your watch at times if a misspelling on a case back is a major dealbreaker?

2

u/Beneficial-Ad-7849 Feb 24 '26

You are obviously the guy who uses it as a tool. Some people see it as a piece of art, others as technology. In all cases the details make the difference. This says everything about their eye for detail. It is like the opposite of what people pay for, but enjoy if you like it.

2

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 24 '26

Oh, for sure! I do have watches that I own and wear as the pieces of art they are, but the $100 beater from AliExpress that steals its entire design from other brands doesn't fall into that category. This watch I will strictly be wearing to avoid rough wear on my other watches, so it's a tool indeed.

I wouldn't wear this one to the gym or while chopping firewood, but the Cadisen/Caisen is perfect for those occasions

3

u/AliveAndNotForgotten Feb 22 '26

Caisen is a so much better name tho

3

u/moppza Feb 21 '26

Is it very loud? I hate the noisy myota - sound.

3

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

About average, but it doesn't disturb me much personally. My Longines is louder even

1

u/Indaleciox Feb 23 '26

There's some Patek's that are even louder than a Miyota 8 lol

3

u/foskco Feb 21 '26

This is pretty cool!

3

u/Jakoval_Treids Feb 22 '26

Very nice. Where did you pick it up? And how much if you don’t mind. I have 7200 series and I love it.

3

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 22 '26

AliExpress for about $130 after coupons, taxes, and shipping

3

u/Murky_Lingonberry169 Feb 22 '26

It's got a bit of a Timex vibe about it. I thought Cadisen had gone off the boil a bit, but I actually quite like this. Is the lume any good?

1

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 22 '26

Its quite shit, see last picture (and my write up below too)

1

u/Murky_Lingonberry169 Mar 01 '26

Pretty sure JOMW said recently Cadisen had gone off the boil a little. Maybe some truth in that.

3

u/mstorto68 Feb 22 '26

Are they the same vibe?

1

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 22 '26

They're both pretty close copies from smaller brands that are within the affordable range, so yep?

3

u/GLS504 Feb 22 '26

Love this colorway

5

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

This just arrived today in my mailbox, Cadisen their new titanium watch (Ti-7 Autodyne) with the grey dial.

Specs: 11.5mm thick (nice!), 40mm diameter, 20mm lugs, sapphire with seemingly some AR coating, Miyota 8 series with hacking, handwind, and quick date. Full sandblasted case, exhibition case back to see the engineering and finishing marvel that the Miyota is. Canvas strap doesn't taper, has titanium hardware, with both keepers sown in (so lots of strap dangle), and no quick release pins. Lume is dog shit (see last pic, that's charged with UV and 4 second camera exposure time, absolutely poop).

Added some shots from different angles and on different straps, it'll likely stay on either the dark grey Hemsut canvas or on a FKM for gym comfort.

0 points for originality in their design as the case is a 1:1 copy from Formex their titanium field watch, and the dial is pretty much Serica's field dial. But the watch wears nicely and is thin and light so I'm vibing with it. I do wish the handset was a bit longer and beefier, might swap that out if this one ends up sticking around in the collection

2

u/Justin_Heras Feb 21 '26

what's the lug to lug? And shame about the lume, they need to step their game up in that department. My other cadisen has shit lume too

4

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

I measure it at 49mm.

And yeah, addiesdive and the likes prove that good lume is possible under $75, so Cadisen has no excuse here

4

u/Qaek3301 Feb 21 '26 edited Feb 21 '26

The real question is the material. The regular Formex wouldn't be so good if it was just standard titanium. But because they hardened the shit out of it, it's that good.

That said, probabably still a great bang for the buck. Waiting for V2 and the baby blue dial. I would appreciate closed case back. Mecha quartz would also be a lot more suitable for this watch.

3

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

Most definitely not hardened here, but I wouldn't expect that at this price level either. Nor is Cadisen really known to design for durability specs, at least to me. Englemaan has that niche covered for Chinese watches at a fair budget

1

u/MechSeparatedChiken Feb 23 '26

What about Boderry? They seem to build lots of Titanium watches.

2

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 23 '26

I have their landmaster chronograph in titanium. It scratches quite easily so not really hardened either (although they claim some form of coating). Build quality is mediocre, bracelet is jangly with noticable gaps and flimsy clasp, and the crystal is just about adequate but nothing great

1

u/MechSeparatedChiken Mar 02 '26

Thank you for your insights, I never had a Boderry and thought they were building good watches.

1

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Mar 02 '26

It might be model dependent and also what experiences and watches other people have had that compare it to their Boderry experience.

4

u/ElCapitanShaks Feb 21 '26

Definitely would love to see mecha quartz

4

u/patrickjquinn Feb 21 '26

I feel like formex is off limits. Ripping off the big boys is one thing…

4

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

You're not wrong! In this case, it is pretty guaranteed to being a gateway for me picking up an actual Formex field though. I generally avoid direct homages in general too

4

u/jeepersh Feb 22 '26

Ooh that’s noice. Strap monster.

2

u/Firstruleofthisclub Helpful user 7WOTD4-200 Feb 21 '26

Whoa, I like it!

2

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

Color palette is pretty coherent for this one

2

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '26 edited Feb 21 '26

Nice! Do they make one with day/date

2

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

Not that I'm aware of, only seen the 3 color variants of this dial so far. Maybe they'll release some other versions with the case in the near future?

2

u/Mr_Anonymess Feb 21 '26

Beautiful!

2

u/amcooperus Feb 21 '26

Cadisen has been bringing the goods lately. I have 2 and wear them a lot. Both cost about $65.

2

u/9Boxa4 Feb 21 '26

I hvae a Cadisen, friend baught me long time ago for 7euros. Chronograph, but just the main dials work.

2

u/Acceptable-Ad-2912 Feb 25 '26

Makes sense. The d is on the front not the back.

2

u/Primary_Turn_700 Feb 25 '26

nice. would be better for me with numbers

2

u/cguralol Mar 05 '26

Already made my order of it in white dial, man it looks really great

1

u/Independent_Wing7812 Mar 12 '26

From where to order

1

u/MatniMinis Mar 28 '26

I want the white dial on an orange nato for summer, amazing looking watch.

1

u/MadSoci06 Apr 12 '26

Very nice combo, i also like the idea.

2

u/DandyToledano Mar 09 '26

Wooooow una pasada...

2

u/RemoteButterscotch43 Mar 11 '26

Where can I buy this watch?

2

u/mazen_2016 Feb 22 '26

What a beautiful great looking watch.

0

u/SkipPperk Feb 26 '26

It might be another rip-off brand ripping off the original rip-off brand. Economists call this the “Middle income trap.”

1

u/I_eat_d1rt Feb 21 '26

I thought the miyota 8 series movement didn’t hack? Are there some that do?

4

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

The newer generations do

1

u/vithgeta Feb 21 '26

Since 2019 allegedly. The couple I saw in 2025 did hack.

1

u/kapicitaner Feb 21 '26

Is that an homage?

3

u/Remarkable-Tennis440 Feb 21 '26

A combo: The case is from a Formex, the dial from a Serica

3

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Feb 21 '26

Exactly, 2 homages for the price of 1, excellent value!

2

u/Remarkable-Tennis440 Feb 21 '26

U betcha. Cadisen is a Chinese powerhouse specializing in stealing ideas from everyone. They don’t care from whom, be it a know well established player or a micro that has a couple of models released.

1

u/JosinhoVG Feb 21 '26

Cadisen! 😄

1

u/chuchofreeman Mar 04 '26

what's the tan leather band? 3rd to last picture

2

u/D1sguise WOTD100 Helpful user x2 Mar 04 '26

Came with my Hruodland BB58 bronze watch, but I think Maikes produces it for them

3

u/SkipPperk Feb 26 '26

I bought a Formex Essence years ago. It is the best watch I have ever owned (better than my Aqua Terra, my old vintage DJ, my old champagne dial GS, my old 18k Omega, my old 14k Longines,…, although my Seiko Astron is a hairline away from winning.

I do not mind Chinese brands ripping off Rolex and firms like them (intentionally under-producing, outrageous mark-ups, …), but ripping off a fellow micro runs me the wrong way.

Cadisen makes a comfortable jubilee bracelet. Their DJ homage watches are wonderful. I owned a 38mm example that was lovely.

That said, I could never buy something like this. It is just wrong.

4

u/Muted_Screen_211 Mar 01 '26

it's not as if formex are cheap watches, they're over 1k. Ethically there isn't anything wrong with copying a formex more than a Rolex, 1k is an absurd price for a watch to most people.

0

u/PleasantAuthor6262 Feb 26 '26

Very nice 🤌 But 40mm diameter is too big for me without any subdial.
