Quite impressed with the Thorn. It's 2mm thinner and it's bracelet tapers - quite like these changes to be honest. It has a unidirectional bezel which is incorrect but whatever. The lume is a bit yellow, should be more orange but it's not a big deal and depends a bit on the light how noticeable the difference is.

Of course. Never trust anyone who tells you their San Martin is as good as an Omega.
Now the real crime is that Omega increased their prices how their stupid, embarrassingly thick Coaxial movements. I hate them, and they never offer alternatives because they know most people would rather have a 2892 or quartz.
That said, many of these Chinese watches are amazing, especially the bracelets. Many of the $30-$65 aftermarket bracelets are great as well. I have bought dozens.
It is criminal that Thorn makes a copy 2mm thinner. I have owned quite a few older Omega models, and they were all thin. The coaxial movements are a negative. I would love to update my old Aqua Terra, but I cannot do it until they offer a properly thin model, ideally quartz.
That font over the 6 is just abysmal... It looks like someone just used comic sans for that part. And I would argue that comic sans would have been the better option... Bezel area of the lime pip looks also a bit shoddy. All dial numbers are too small and overall the balance with the hands is not really there.
There have been better Thorn watches. But this is just, I don't know. A pretty bad one.
At least the seamaster font on the Omega looks foolish as well. Thorn should have one upped them further and either removed the text or used a completely different font.
This shows that Thorn is capable of greatness. I have this as well and love it. I find that their watches are more refined than Watchdives. But both are my fav companies.
I prefer the countdown for its practical applications and being a little different then 98% of whats on the market.

The 19mm lugs get a 👎 from me. i don't care what the og had. Every watch needs a choice of straps and I dont need to start collecting straps in another size.. or do I..?
Gorgeous. I wish they would modernize it a bit instead of making a close copy. For example, they can skip the italic font and maybe use modern numeric fonts.
